  • Companies House registration handled efficiently, no paperwork on your desk
  • Share structure and director arrangements set up correctly from the outset
  • Corporation tax and PAYE registrations completed on your behalf
  • Cloud accounting live from day one, so your first year runs cleanly

No long-term contract. If the arrangement is not working after three months, you leave with your company in good order and nothing owed.

Sound familiar?

Not sure how to set your company up correctly?

Incorporating a limited company online takes minutes. Understanding what you have actually signed up for takes considerably longer. Share structures, director loan accounts, salary and dividend planning, VAT registration thresholds, PAYE obligations — the administrative reality of running a limited company arrives quickly and without much warning. A poorly structured company is not a disaster, but unwinding it later costs more than setting it up correctly in the first place.

  • ✕ Uncertain whether a limited company is the right structure for your situation
  • ✕ Share split and directorship set up without proper tax or commercial advice
  • ✕ No accounting system in place, so the first year’s records are already a mess

What a well-formed company looks like

The formation itself is straightforward. The value is in the decisions made around it — structure, registrations, software, and a clear picture of what the first year of compliance will cost. That is what this service covers.

  • ✓ Structure reviewed before registration — sole trader, limited company, or holding company explained plainly
  • ✓ Share allocation and director roles set up in a way that makes sense for tax and the future
  • ✓ Xero or QuickBooks live from day one, so records are clean before the first transaction
  • ✓ Fixed-fee quote covering formation, registrations, and first-year compliance — no hidden extras

What you get

Everything the formation service covers

Formation is one part of it. The service is designed to get your company trading cleanly, with compliance obligations understood and accounting in place from the start.

01

Companies House Registration

Your limited company is incorporated at Companies House with the correct SIC code, registered office address, and memorandum of association. Director and shareholder details are filed accurately, and your Certificate of Incorporation arrives promptly. Corporation tax registration with HMRC follows as standard.

Included as standard
02

Structure and Tax Advice

Before a single form is submitted, the commercial and tax implications of your chosen structure are discussed in plain terms. Share allocation, salary and dividend planning, VAT registration, and whether a holding company arrangement makes sense for your situation are all covered. The decisions made here have a material effect on what you pay in tax.

Included as standard
03

Cloud Accounting Setup

Xero or QuickBooks Online is configured and live before your company starts trading, so your records are clean from the first transaction. Bank feeds, chart of accounts, and any integrations relevant to your sector are set up at the outset. Your first year-end will not involve untangling a spreadsheet.

Why Supreme Consulting

Why businesses form their company with us

There is no shortage of online formation agents. The difference here is that formation comes with commercial advice, not just a confirmation number.

🏗️

Formation with commercial context

A Companies House registration without any surrounding advice is a filing exercise, not a service. Every formation starts with a conversation about structure, tax position, and what the first year of compliance will actually look like. That conversation takes less than an hour and typically saves more than the cost of the service.

📅

Twenty years of doing this

Supreme Consulting has been incorporating companies and advising on structure since 2005. The common mistakes — wrong share splits, missed VAT registration windows, first-year accounts filed late — are familiar enough to be avoided without ceremony. Experience does not guarantee perfection, but it substantially reduces the scope for avoidable errors.

💷

Fixed fee, no surprise invoices

Formation and the surrounding advice are priced on a fixed-fee basis. You know the cost before anything is submitted. Ongoing compliance — year-end accounts, corporation tax, confirmation statement — is also quoted upfront as a monthly retainer, so the first renewal date does not come with an unexpected bill.

Getting started

Your company up and running in four steps

The process is designed to require as little from you as possible while ensuring the decisions that matter are made deliberately.

1

A short discovery call

We start with a no-obligation conversation to understand your business, your current setup, and what you need from your accountant. The call covers the structure question, your expected turnover, whether VAT registration is needed from day one, and what ongoing support makes sense. You will leave the call knowing exactly what happens next.

2

A clear, fixed-fee proposal

You receive a written proposal covering formation, any registrations required, cloud accounting setup, and ongoing compliance. The fee is fixed; the scope is specific. There are no items listed as ‘available on request’ that later arrive on an invoice.

3

We handle the filing

Once you confirm, Companies House registration, HMRC notifications, and cloud accounting configuration are handled by us. You review and sign what requires your signature. The administrative side of incorporation is not something you need to navigate.

4

Trading with books in order

Your company is registered, your software is live, and your compliance calendar is clear. First payment on account dates, VAT quarters, and confirmation statement deadlines are all known in advance. The first year of running a limited company is considerably less daunting when it starts with the books already in order.

Questions

What people usually ask before forming a company

Do I actually need a limited company, or would a sole trader structure be simpler?+

That depends on your expected profits, your appetite for administrative overhead, and whether limited liability matters in your sector. A limited company typically becomes tax-efficient above roughly £30,000–£35,000 in annual profit, though the calculation changes depending on salary drawn and personal circumstances. The formation service starts with this question, not after it — there is no point incorporating if the structure does not suit your situation.

What does the company formation service cost, and what is included?+

Formation is priced on a fixed-fee basis, quoted before anything is filed. The fee covers Companies House incorporation, corporation tax registration with HMRC, and cloud accounting setup in Xero or QuickBooks Online. Ongoing compliance — year-end accounts, corporation tax return, confirmation statement — is quoted separately as a monthly retainer so you know the full annual cost upfront.

I have already incorporated online but have not set up any bookkeeping. Is it too late?+

No. Many clients arrive having registered themselves and then done nothing with the records for three to twelve months. A catch-up bookkeeping exercise sorts the historical position and brings everything current. The cost of that catch-up is discussed honestly at the outset — it depends on how much activity there has been and the state of the existing records.

Is there a long-term contract, or can I leave if the arrangement is not working?+

There is no long-term contract. Ongoing compliance is priced on a monthly retainer with one month’s notice. If you decide to move to a different accountant, your records are transferred cleanly and your Companies House authorisation is updated without delay. The expectation is that you stay because the service is useful, not because leaving is inconvenient.

Can you handle PAYE and VAT registration at the same time as formation?+

Yes. If you are taking a salary from day one, PAYE registration with HMRC is handled as part of the setup. VAT registration — including the decision about whether to register voluntarily before hitting the threshold — is also managed at this stage. Getting these registrations done at incorporation avoids the compliance gap that occurs when they are set up reactively later.

How much tax will I actually pay in the first year as a limited company?+

That depends on your profits, the salary and dividend combination you draw, and any allowable expenses claimed. A reasonable estimate is produced during the discovery call so the first year does not arrive with a surprise corporation tax bill. Corporation tax is due nine months and one day after your accounting period ends, which catches more new directors off guard than it should.
