Sole Trader Accountant, East End
Your self-employed finances, handled properly.
Most sole traders in East End and the surrounding New Forest area come to us because their current situation is some version of disorganised — tax bills arriving as a surprise, receipts in a folder, Self Assessment left until January. We handle all of it on a fixed fee, with over 20 years of experience behind every piece of advice, and replies within one working day.
- Your Self Assessment filed well before the January deadline
- Tax bill known months in advance, not weeks after
- Allowable expenses identified and claimed correctly
- Bookkeeping off your plate, books current each month
No long-term contract. If things are not working after three months, you leave with clean books and nothing owed.

Sound familiar?
Still guessing what your tax bill will be?
For most sole traders, the tax return gets filed in January under pressure, the bill lands without much warning, and the question of what you can actually claim stays largely unanswered. Bookkeeping drifts. Records get messy. HMRC correspondence sits in a drawer getting more complicated. None of this is unusual, and none of it is particularly difficult to fix.
- ✕ Self Assessment left until January, tax bill arriving as a surprise
- ✕ Uncertain which expenses are genuinely allowable and which are not
- ✕ Bookkeeping piling up, records in disarray by the year end
What sorted looks like
The year-end scramble largely disappears when the books are current and the return is filed with months to spare. You know your tax position, you are claiming what you should be, and the paperwork is handled.
- ✓ Self Assessment filed early, tax liability confirmed well before January
- ✓ Allowable expenses reviewed and claimed correctly, nothing left on the table
- ✓ Monthly bookkeeping maintained, records clean and up to date
- ✓ Fixed-fee pricing, no surprise invoices at the end of the month

Why sole traders in East End choose us
There is no shortage of accountants. The difference tends to come down to experience, responsiveness, and whether the advice is actually useful for the size of business you run.
Over 20 years with small businesses
Supreme Consulting has been working with sole traders, freelancers, and owner-managed businesses since 2005. That means Stuart has seen most situations before — the income spikes, the quiet years, the HMRC letters, the cash flow gaps. You will not need to spend the first hour explaining how self-employment works.
Fixed fee, no surprises
Pricing is agreed upfront and does not change mid-year. You know exactly what you are paying before you sign anything, and the scope is clear. There are no hourly rates running quietly in the background while you ask questions.
Answers within one working day
Questions get a reply within one working day. Most come back faster. If something urgent comes up — an HMRC letter, a VAT query, a deadline you have just noticed — you are not left waiting. That level of access matters when you are running a business on your own.
Up and running in four straightforward steps
Switching accountants or starting from scratch takes less effort than most people expect. Here is how it works.
A no-obligation discovery call
We start with a short conversation about your business, your current setup, and what you need. No forms to fill in beforehand. You ask questions, we ask a few back, and we both work out whether it is a good fit.
A clear, fixed-fee proposal
You receive a written proposal covering exactly what is included, the timeline, and the monthly or annual cost. No vague estimates and nothing hidden in the small print.
We handle the transition
If you have an existing accountant, we manage the handover and request the records we need. If your books are behind, we catch them up. You do not need to do the heavy lifting.
Your finances, running as they should
Tax filed on time. Books current. Tax bill known well in advance. The parts of the job you dislike most are handled, and you have an accountant available when something comes up — which is how it should have been all along.
“Very clear and gives excellent clarity on all situations when I am in doubt. Communication is always prompt, professional, and easy to understand, which makes dealing with finances far less stressful. They take the time to explain things.”
Things sole traders usually want to know
Do you work specifically with sole traders, or am I the smallest client you deal with?
Sole traders make up a significant part of our client base — cleaners, tradespeople, consultants, therapists, and freelancers of various kinds. The Self Assessment process, expense rules, and cash flow pressures that come with self-employment are things we deal with regularly. You will not be explaining the basics.
What does a sole trader package actually cost, and what does it include?
Pricing is fixed and agreed upfront based on your turnover, whether VAT applies, and whether you need monthly bookkeeping or just an annual return. A straightforward Self Assessment with basic records review sits at the lower end; full monthly bookkeeping plus VAT and tax planning sits at the higher end. You will receive a written quote before anything begins, and the price does not change unless your scope does.
My books are a bit of a mess. Is catch-up work something you handle?
Yes, and it comes up more often than you might expect. Catch-up bookkeeping is priced separately from your ongoing work and quoted once we have seen the state of the records. It is almost always less painful to sort than clients assume going in. Once it is done, keeping things current is considerably easier.
Am I locked into a contract if I sign up?
There is no long-term lock-in. Ongoing services run on a rolling basis with reasonable notice on either side. If things are not working — for whatever reason — you leave with clean, up-to-date records and everything you need to move on. We would rather earn the relationship month by month than hold you to a contract.
I am approaching the VAT registration threshold. Do you handle that too?
Yes. Monitoring turnover against the VAT threshold is part of what we do for sole traders whose income is growing. If registration is coming, you will know about it in advance rather than after the fact. We handle the registration process, set up your MTD-compliant VAT returns, and advise on the most appropriate VAT scheme for your business.
How far in advance will I know what my tax bill is going to be?
For most clients, we have a clear picture of the tax position three to four months before the January deadline. That gives you time to set money aside or, in some cases, adjust your final quarter to reduce the liability. Knowing your number in October is a better position than discovering it in January.
Leave the guesswork behind. Get your books sorted.
