Sound familiar?
Still not sure what your tax bill will be?
Contractors running limited companies face a specific set of pressures that most high-street accountants are not well set up to handle. IR35 determinations, dividend versus salary decisions, quarterly VAT, and a corporation tax bill that arrives with very little warning. None of it is complicated in isolation, but without someone keeping track, it tends to pile up.
- Corporation tax arrives as a surprise because no one tracked it through the year
- IR35 status never properly reviewed before signing a new contract
- Bookkeeping months behind, so year-end becomes an expensive scramble to catch up
What a sorted contractor setup looks like
With the compliance managed and the numbers current, you know your tax position at any point in the year. The filing deadlines are handled. The IR35 question has an answer. You can get on with the contract.
- Your corporation tax is calculated and set aside quarterly, no end-of-year shock
- IR35 reviewed before you sign, with a clear written position you can rely on
- Bookkeeping kept current monthly so year-end is straightforward and cost-predictable
- Fixed monthly fee, agreed upfront, with no surprise invoices mid-year

What makes this different from a generic online accountant
There are plenty of online accountancy portals. The difference here is that you deal with an experienced practitioner who already understands how contracting works, not a support queue.
IR35 Knowledge Built In
IR35 is not an add-on service that gets passed to a specialist. The reviews are done in-house, drawing on over 20 years of working with contractors and limited companies. You get a clear, written position you can show to an agency or end client if needed.
Cloud Tools, No Paper Chase
Xero and QuickBooks Online are set up and managed as part of the service, not billed as extras. Expenses, invoices, and bank feeds connect automatically, so the bookkeeping does not rely on you sending a shoebox of receipts at year-end. Everything is visible in real time.
Fixed Fees, No Hourly Billing
The fee is agreed before any work begins, based on the scope of your company’s requirements. There are no hourly rates accumulating in the background when you ask a question. You know what you are paying each month.
Up and running in four straightforward steps
Most clients are fully onboarded within two weeks. The transition from a previous accountant, or from doing it yourself, is handled on our side.
A Brief Discovery Call
A short conversation to understand your contracting setup, current accounting arrangements, and what you need. No obligation, and you will come away with a clear picture of what is involved. It takes about 20 minutes.
A Fixed-Fee Proposal
You receive a written proposal covering the exact scope of services, the monthly fee, and what is included. No vague estimates or scope creep. If the price does not work for you, nothing is owed.
Onboarding and Cloud Setup
We handle the Companies House authority transfer, HMRC agent authorisation, and cloud accounting migration. If you are switching from another accountant, we contact them directly to collect your records. You do very little.
Ongoing, With Nothing to Chase
Deadlines are tracked, filings go out on time, and your books are current every month. Questions get answered the day you ask them. The accounting runs in the background and you focus on the contract.
“I’m so grateful for the help received with my small cleaning business. Stuart holds your hand and advises throughout!”
Things contractors usually want to know
Do you understand how contractor limited companies actually work, including dividend planning and IR35?
Yes. The majority of the limited company clients here are contractors or owner-managed businesses operating through their own personal service companies. Dividend and salary optimisation, IR35 status reviews, CIS compliance for construction contractors, and the interaction between director’s loan accounts and personal tax are all handled as part of the normal service. You will not need to explain the basics.
What does online contractor accounting actually cost, and what is included?
Pricing is fixed and agreed upfront based on the scope of your company’s requirements. A typical contractor limited company package covers year-end accounts, corporation tax return, confirmation statement, and director’s self assessment. Bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll, and IR35 reviews can be added to a monthly retainer. The exact fee is confirmed in a written proposal before any work starts, so there are no surprises.
My books are behind. Can you take on the catch-up work as well?
Catch-up bookkeeping is something that comes up regularly. The backlog is assessed during the initial conversation, and the cost of bringing the records up to date is quoted separately and clearly before work begins. It is usually more manageable than people expect once someone with the right tools looks at it properly.
Is there a minimum contract term, and what happens if I want to leave?
There is no long-term lock-in. If you decide the arrangement is not right for you, you give one month’s notice and your records are returned cleanly. All Companies House and HMRC authorities are transferred to your new accountant without delay. You leave with everything in order.
I work through an umbrella company sometimes and through my own limited company at other times. Can you handle both?
Yes. The self assessment return will pick up income from umbrella PAYE employment, director’s salary and dividends from your limited company, and any other income streams in a single return. The compliance side of your limited company runs alongside the personal tax work so nothing falls through the gap between the two.
When will I actually know what my corporation tax bill is going to be?
With bookkeeping kept current throughout the year, the corporation tax liability is visible on a rolling basis. You will not be presented with the figure for the first time when the return is filed. Most clients know their approximate liability at least a quarter before it falls due, which leaves enough time to set the cash aside or consider any legitimate planning opportunities.
