Sound familiar?

Still not sure what your tax bill is going to be?

A lot of people in New Milton end up filing their Self Assessment in a rush in January, paying whatever HMRC says without checking whether it is right. Expenses get missed. Income gets misclassified. The return goes in on time, but not necessarily accurately. And then the following year, the same thing happens.

  • No idea what you owe until the deadline is nearly on you
  • Expenses and allowances claimed without a proper review
  • Returns filed yourself to save money, with no second pair of eyes

What a properly handled return looks like

Your tax position is worked out well in advance, your expenses are reviewed for anything claimable, and the return is filed accurately on a fixed fee. No January panic, no surprises from HMRC.

  • Your tax liability confirmed months before the January deadline
  • All allowable expenses and reliefs checked before the return is filed
  • Return prepared and reviewed by an experienced accountant, not filed blind
  • One fixed fee with nothing added on — you know the cost upfront

What the Self Assessment service covers

One fixed fee. One clear scope. Preparation, review, and HMRC submission handled by the same person who knows your numbers.

01

SA100 Preparation and Filing

Your return is prepared from the income and expense information you provide, with a thorough review before submission. We file directly with HMRC and confirm once it is done. Directors, sole traders, landlords, partners, and freelancers are all catered for.

Included as standard
02

Expenses and Allowances Review

Before the return goes in, we check what you have claimed against what you are entitled to claim. That includes mileage, home office use, professional subscriptions, equipment, and any reliefs specific to your industry or income type. The difference is often material.

Included as standard
03

Tax Planning and Forward Visibility

Once the return is filed, you will know your payment on account position and have a clearer picture of what the following year is likely to look like. For clients with more complex affairs, tax planning around capital gains, pension contributions, or property income can be arranged separately.

Why Supreme Consulting

Why New Milton clients choose us for Self Assessment

There are plenty of accountants who will file your return. Fewer will check it properly, tell you the cost upfront, and answer your questions the same day.

📅

Over 20 years filing returns

Founded in 2005, Supreme Consulting has prepared Self Assessment returns across a wide range of income types — employment, self-employment, property, dividends, capital gains, and more. That breadth of experience means most situations are familiar before you describe them.

💷

Fixed fee, no billing surprises

You receive a fixed-fee quote before any work begins. The scope is clear, the price does not change mid-return, and there are no hourly charges applied retrospectively. You know what you are paying before you confirm.

💬

Answers within one working day

Questions about your return, your payments on account, or your expenses do not sit in a queue for a week. Replies arrive within one working day as standard — which is, frankly, what a functioning client relationship should look like.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps

The process is designed to put as little on your plate as possible. Most clients are set up and their return underway within a few days of first contact.

1

Brief discovery call

A short, no-obligation conversation to understand your income sources, your current situation, and what the return needs to cover. You will leave the call knowing exactly what happens next and what it will cost.

2

Fixed-fee proposal sent

You receive a written proposal confirming the scope of work and the fixed fee. No ambiguity about what is and is not included. You confirm when you are ready.

3

Send us your information

We provide a clear checklist of what we need — income documents, expense records, and any relevant correspondence. You send what you have; we will flag if anything is missing and work with what is available.

4

Return filed, tax bill known

Once your return is reviewed and approved, we file it directly with HMRC. You receive confirmation, your tax liability is set out clearly, and you know what you owe and when. January deadline anxiety is, at that point, someone else’s problem.

Questions

Things people usually ask before getting started

I have multiple income sources — employment, rental income, and some freelance work. Can you handle all of that in one return?+

Yes. A single SA100 can cover employment income, self-employment profit, UK property income, dividends, capital gains, and more. We will ask you upfront about all your income types so nothing is omitted, and the return is prepared to reflect your full picture accurately.

What does the Self Assessment service cost, and what is included?+

Pricing is fixed and confirmed before any work begins. The fee covers preparation of your SA100, a review of your income and expenses, and direct submission to HMRC. More complex returns — those involving capital gains, multiple properties, or foreign income — are priced accordingly. You will receive a written quote before committing.

My records are a bit of a mess. Will that cause problems?+

Disorganised records are common and not a reason to delay. We will send you a checklist of what we need and work through what you provide. If there are gaps, we will tell you what is missing and how to find it. Catch-up work, if required, is scoped and priced separately so there are no hidden charges.

Am I tied in to a contract if I use you for Self Assessment?+

No. Self Assessment is typically an annual fixed-fee engagement with no ongoing commitment beyond the current return. If you would like us to handle bookkeeping or management accounts on a monthly basis, that is a separate arrangement entirely. You are not locked into anything you have not explicitly agreed to.

What is the deadline for Self Assessment, and what happens if I miss it?+

The online filing deadline is 31 January following the end of the relevant tax year. A missed deadline triggers an automatic £100 penalty from HMRC, with further charges accruing after three and six months. Filing well in advance of January removes that risk entirely and means you know your tax liability in time to plan your payment.

Can you advise on reducing my tax bill, not just filing the return?+

Yes. As part of the return process, we review your allowable expenses and reliefs to ensure the return is as accurate as possible. For more involved planning — pension contributions, timing of income, property structuring, or capital gains management — we offer tax planning as a separate advisory service, scoped and priced on request.

Ready when you are

Stop guessing what you owe. Get it sorted.

A fixed-fee Self Assessment return, prepared accurately, filed on time, with your tax liability confirmed well before January. No surprises, no open-ended billing.
