Sound familiar?

Running on gut instinct because the numbers never quite add up?

A lot of Hampshire business owners make decisions based on what is in the bank account today, which is a reasonable proxy until it is not. The problem is that cash position and profitability are different things, and without a working plan you will not see the tight months coming until they arrive. Business planning is not complicated by nature. It tends to get complicated when it is done too late, or built around assumptions nobody checked.

  • No clear view of what cash will look like in three or six months
  • Growth plans built on rough estimates rather than tested assumptions
  • Spending time in the business with no roadmap for where it is going

What a working plan looks like

A business plan worth having is a working document, not a one-off exercise. It tells you what the numbers need to do, where the risks are, and what decisions are coming. These are the things that change when it is in place.

  • A twelve-month cash flow model that flags pressure points well in advance
  • Financial projections built from your actual cost base and tested revenue scenarios
  • A clear direction for the business, with milestones you can track against
  • Fixed-fee pricing so planning support does not become an open-ended cost

What you get

Business planning that covers the ground that matters

Three core components make up a business plan you can act on. Each one is built from your numbers, not from a template.

01

Cash Flow Modelling and Forecasting

Your cash position twelve months out, modelled against your actual costs and realistic revenue assumptions. Tight months are visible in advance, which means you have time to do something about them rather than react when they arrive.

Included as standard
02

Financial Projections and Scenario Planning

Revenue, margin, and profitability projections built around what you are actually selling and what it costs to deliver. Scenarios are stress-tested so you understand the range of outcomes before committing to a decision.

Tailored to your business
03

Strategic Advisory and Business Direction

Commercially grounded guidance on where the business is heading, what the numbers need to do to get there, and which decisions have the most impact on profitability. Updated as circumstances change, not filed away after the first conversation.

Ongoing or one-off
What clients say

Consistent results across different businesses

Clients range from sole traders getting on top of their finances to owner-managed limited companies planning their next stage of growth. The feedback tends to say the same things.

Why Supreme Consulting

Why Hampshire businesses work with us on their planning

There are accountants who file your returns and accountants who help you think about the business. We do both, and the planning work is grounded in your actual financial position.

📅

Over twenty years of commercial practice

Supreme Consulting has worked with small businesses in Hampshire since 2005. That means Stuart has seen most of the situations a business plan is supposed to prepare you for. The advice is grounded in what actually happens, not what the textbook says should happen.

💡

Commercial advice, not just accounting output

A spreadsheet of projections is not a business plan. What makes it useful is the interpretation: which numbers matter, which assumptions need challenging, and what the plan is telling you to do. That is the conversation we have with every client.

💷

Fixed-fee pricing, agreed upfront

Business planning engagements are quoted as a fixed fee before any work begins. You know what it costs, what is included, and when it will be delivered. There are no hourly rates accumulating in the background.

Getting started

Up and running in four steps

From initial conversation to a working business plan, the process is straightforward. Most clients have something useful in their hands within two to three weeks.

1

A discovery call, no obligation

We start with a conversation about your business, where you are now, and what you need the plan to do. It takes around thirty minutes and costs nothing. You will leave knowing exactly what the engagement would involve.

2

A clear, fixed-fee proposal

You receive a written proposal covering the scope of work, what we need from you, the timeline, and the fixed fee. No surprises, no open-ended commitment.

3

We build the plan together

We work from your actual financial data, ask the questions that matter, and build out the cash flow model and projections. You do not need to prepare anything elaborate beforehand.

4

A plan you can use from day one

You finish the engagement with a working financial model, a set of projections you understand, and a clearer picture of where the business is going. When circumstances change, we update it.

Questions

Things people usually ask before getting started

Is this a one-off document or ongoing support?+

It depends on what you need. Some clients want a one-off plan for a specific purpose, such as a loan application or a growth decision. Others want the plan updated quarterly as the business develops. Both are available, and we will recommend whichever approach is actually useful for your situation rather than the more expensive one.

What does business planning support cost?+

All work is quoted on a fixed-fee basis before anything starts. The fee depends on the complexity of your business, the depth of modelling required, and whether you want ongoing updates or a one-off engagement. You will receive a written quote after the discovery call, and there is no obligation to proceed.

My books are not in great shape. Does that matter?+

It means we may need to tidy things up before the projections can be built on solid ground, and we will tell you if that is the case. A plan built on unreliable data is not much use to anyone. If catch-up bookkeeping is needed first, we will quote for that separately and clearly.

Is there a long-term contract?+

No. One-off engagements are completed and closed. Ongoing planning retainers run on a monthly basis and can be stopped with reasonable notice. There is no minimum term and no penalty for leaving. You keep everything we have produced.

What information do you need from me to get started?+

At a minimum, recent management accounts or bank statements, a rough breakdown of your cost base, and a sense of where you want the business to be in twelve to twenty-four months. If you have more, we will use it. If you have less, we will work with what is available and flag where the assumptions are thinner.

Can the plan be used for a bank loan or investor conversation?+

Yes. If that is the purpose, tell us upfront so we can structure the output accordingly. Lenders and investors tend to want specific things from a financial plan, and it is more efficient to build for that from the start than to retrofit it afterwards.
