Sound familiar?

Running a limited company should not feel like this.

Owner-managed limited companies carry a surprising amount of compliance overhead: year-end accounts, corporation tax, confirmation statements, payroll and VAT all on different deadlines. Most directors know roughly what needs doing but are never quite sure when, or what it will cost. The result is a recurring cycle of last-minute paperwork, surprise bills and nagging uncertainty about whether everything is actually in order.

  • ✕ Tax bills arriving with little notice and no time to plan
  • ✕ Accountant difficult to reach when you have a straightforward question
  • ✕ No clear picture of what the business is actually making month to month

What a well-run limited company looks like

  • ✓ Corporation tax calculated early so you can plan your cash flow properly
  • ✓ Questions answered within one working day, every time
  • ✓ Monthly or quarterly management accounts showing what the business is doing
  • ✓ One fixed monthly fee covering everything agreed — no unexpected invoices

Why Supreme Consulting

Why Lymington limited companies choose us

Twenty years of practice. Modern cloud tools. Advice grounded in how owner-managed businesses actually work.

📅

Twenty years working with owner-managed companies

Supreme Consulting has been advising limited companies since 2005. That depth of experience means we have seen most of what small businesses encounter — rapid growth, difficult years, director disputes, IR35 questions — and we already know how to handle it. You will not need to explain the basics.

💷

Fixed fees, scoped before you commit

Every engagement starts with a clear written proposal covering exactly what is included and what it costs. No hourly billing, no scope-creep invoices. If your circumstances change and the scope grows, that conversation happens before any additional work begins.

☁️

Cloud accounting built in from day one

Certified in both Xero and QuickBooks Online, we migrate new clients to cloud accounting as part of onboarding. Real-time bank feeds, automated VAT submissions and live financial dashboards mean you are not waiting until year-end to understand how the business is performing.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps

The transition to a new accountant is usually the part people dread most. In practice, it takes very little from you.

1

A conversation, no obligation

We start with a discovery call to understand your company, your current setup and what you actually need. You will leave the call with a clear picture of what working together would look like — and what it would cost.

2

A clear, fixed-fee proposal

You receive a written proposal covering the scope of services, the annual timeline and the monthly fee. Everything is itemised. If something is not included, it will say so — you will not find out later.

3

We handle the transition

We notify your previous accountant, request the relevant records and migrate your bookkeeping to the cloud. Most clients find this requires almost nothing from them beyond an email or two.

4

Your finances running as they should

Regular check-ins, compliance handled on schedule and proactive advice when something in the business warrants it. The financials become a functional part of the business rather than a source of periodic anxiety.

Questions

Questions about limited company accounting

Do you handle both the company accounts and the director’s personal tax return?+

Yes. Most of our limited company engagements include both the statutory company accounts with CT600 and the director’s Self Assessment return. The two are closely linked — particularly around salary and dividend planning — and it is more efficient to handle them together. We can also cover returns for spouses or partners who hold shares in the company.

What does a limited company package cost, and what is included?+

We work on fixed-fee pricing tailored to your company’s size, turnover and the specific services required. A core limited company package covers year-end statutory accounts, the CT600, confirmation statement filing and year-round support. Bookkeeping, payroll, VAT and management accounts are costed separately and added only if you need them. You will receive an itemised written proposal before anything is agreed.

My books are behind and my previous accountant left things in a mess. Can you still help?+

Catch-up work is something we handle regularly. The first step is understanding how far behind things are and what records exist, which we assess during the initial call. We will give you an honest estimate of what it will take to bring everything current and what that costs — there are no surprises. Once the catch-up is complete, everything moves to a clean ongoing schedule.

Is there a minimum contract term?+

There is no long-term lock-in. We work on rolling monthly arrangements and ask for 30 days’ notice if you choose to leave. If you decide to move on, we will prepare a handover pack for your new accountant and leave your records in good order. The aim is that you stay because the service is worth it, not because leaving is difficult.

Can you advise on the most tax-efficient way to extract profits from my company?+

Director remuneration planning — the balance between salary, dividends and pension contributions — is part of what we do for every limited company client. The right structure depends on your personal tax position, National Insurance thresholds and any other income you have. We review this annually and flag any changes to legislation that affect your options.

How far in advance will I know what my corporation tax bill is going to be?+

For most clients we produce a draft tax computation several months before the payment deadline. That gives you time to plan for the liability rather than receiving an unexpected figure. If there are reliefs available — R&D credits, capital allowances or loss relief — those are identified and applied as part of the same process.
