Sound familiar?
Payroll eating time you do not have?
For most small businesses in the New Forest District, payroll is one of those tasks that sits awkwardly between manageable and genuinely risky. Get it wrong and you are dealing with unhappy employees, HMRC penalties, or both. Most business owners running it themselves are spending an evening a month on something that should take minutes — and still not entirely sure they have it right.
- RTI submissions filed late or incorrectly, risking HMRC penalties
- Hours spent each month on payroll that could be spent running your business
- CIS deductions miscalculated, leaving contractor relationships complicated
What handled properly looks like
Payroll leaves your desk entirely. Submissions go out on time, calculations are accurate, and you receive a clear pay run summary before anything hits your bank. If something changes mid-month, it gets dealt with promptly.
- RTI filed on time every period — no late notices from HMRC landing in your inbox
- Pay runs processed and confirmed monthly, requiring nothing from you beyond approval
- CIS deductions calculated correctly and reported, with statements issued to subcontractors
- Fixed monthly fee so the cost of payroll is predictable and clearly defined

What the payroll service covers
A full payroll bureau service for New Forest District businesses, priced on a fixed monthly basis and scaled to the size of your team.
PAYE Payroll and RTI Submissions
Your pay runs are processed each period and RTI submissions filed directly with HMRC before the deadline. Payslips go to employees, and you receive a summary confirming exactly what has gone out. If your headcount changes or someone joins mid-month, it is handled without the need for you to do the arithmetic.
Included as standardCIS Payroll for Construction
If you engage subcontractors under the Construction Industry Scheme, deductions need to be calculated accurately and monthly CIS returns filed with HMRC. Statements to subcontractors go out on time, and your records stay clean for year-end. It is a fiddly area of compliance — handled correctly here as a matter of routine.
Available as add-onPayroll Year-End and P60s
At the end of each tax year, P60s are prepared and issued to employees, and the final payroll submissions reconcile correctly with HMRC records. Any P11D reporting for benefits in kind can be added where needed. Year-end does not have to be something you worry about if the underlying payroll has been kept current.

From sole traders to small teams, the feedback reflects a consistent experience: clear communication, accurate work, and pricing that is straightforward.

Why businesses in the New Forest District use us for payroll
There are plenty of payroll providers. The difference here is that payroll sits alongside accountancy and tax advice in one place, with a single point of contact who knows your business.
Over 20 years of payroll experience
Supreme Consulting has run payroll for small businesses and contractors since 2005. The filing deadlines, the edge cases, the mid-year changes — none of it requires explanation before getting a sensible answer. That depth of routine practice is what stops errors before they become problems.
Fixed monthly fee, no surprises
Payroll is priced on a fixed monthly basis based on the number of employees and pay frequency. You know exactly what you are paying before the first submission goes out. There are no hourly rates and no additional charge for the odd query during the month.
Integrated with your cloud accounts
If your bookkeeping runs through Xero or QuickBooks Online, payroll figures feed in automatically and your accounts stay reconciled without manual intervention. For businesses that want everything in one place and one conversation, that matters more than it sounds.
Up and running in four straightforward steps
Switching payroll providers is simpler than most people expect. The transition is managed from our side, and you are not expected to do the heavy lifting.
A brief conversation first
We start with a no-obligation call to understand your current payroll setup — number of employees, pay frequency, whether CIS applies, and any loose ends from previous submissions. It takes twenty minutes and costs nothing.
A clear fixed-fee proposal
You receive a written proposal with a fixed monthly price and a clear list of what is included. No vague scope, no hidden extras. If the quote does not work for you, there is no obligation to proceed.
We handle the transfer
We request the payroll records and employer reference from your previous provider or HMRC, set up the payroll system, and verify the opening figures. You are not expected to chase down information or mediate between software platforms.
Payroll runs without you
Once set up, payroll operates each period with minimal input from you. Approve the pay run, and the rest is handled. Employees are paid correctly, submissions go to HMRC on time, and you have considerably less to think about on the last Friday of the month.
“Very clear and gives excellent clarity on all situations when I am in doubt. Communication is always prompt, professional, and easy to understand, which makes dealing with finances far less stressful. They take the time to explain things.”
Things people usually ask about payroll
Do you handle payroll for businesses with irregular staffing or seasonal employees?
Yes. Payroll for businesses with variable headcount — seasonal workers, zero-hours contracts, or staff who join and leave mid-year — is a standard part of what we manage. Starters and leavers are processed within the same pay run, P45s are issued correctly, and HMRC is notified through RTI without you needing to track the mechanics. If your team size fluctuates throughout the year, the fixed monthly price is agreed upfront based on your typical headcount.
What does payroll cost, and what is included in the monthly fee?
Pricing is fixed monthly and based on the number of employees and your pay frequency — weekly, fortnightly, or monthly. The fee covers the full pay run, RTI submission, payslips, and P60s at year-end. CIS returns are available as an addition for businesses in the construction trade. You receive a written quote before anything starts, and the price does not change unless your headcount or requirements change materially.
My payroll records are in a bit of a mess. Can you still take it on?
Payroll records in poor shape are not unusual, particularly if payroll has been handled in-house or by someone who has since left. We review the existing records, identify any gaps or inconsistencies, and get the payroll onto a clean footing before the first submission goes out. If there are outstanding submissions to reconcile with HMRC, that is part of the onboarding process rather than something left for you to sort out.
Is there a minimum contract term?
No. The service runs on a monthly basis and you can give notice at any time. If you decide to move your payroll elsewhere, we transfer the records and employer reference information cleanly and promptly. There are no exit fees and no retention of records beyond the statutory period. The arrangement works because the service is worth keeping, not because leaving is difficult.
Do you handle auto-enrolment pension contributions alongside payroll?
Auto-enrolment administration — calculating contributions, communicating with the pension provider, and maintaining the necessary records — can be included alongside the payroll service. If you are approaching a staging date for the first time or need to re-enrol employees following a three-year cycle, that is something we can advise on before it becomes urgent.
Can you tell me in advance what my employer National Insurance costs will be each month?
Yes. Once payroll is running, you receive a pay run summary before anything is processed showing gross pay, employee and employer National Insurance, PAYE, and net pay. You know the figures before the funds leave your account. If your wage bill is growing and you want to model the NI implications of taking on additional staff, that is a straightforward conversation rather than a separate engagement.
