Sound familiar?
Running payroll yourself and quietly hoping it is right?
For many Hordle businesses, payroll sits in a spreadsheet, or a basic software package that no one is quite confident in. RTI deadlines come around faster than expected, PAYE codes change without warning, and pension auto-enrolment obligations have a way of being overlooked until they become a problem. It is not that payroll is complicated — it is that it is unforgiving when it goes wrong.
- RTI deadlines missed because no one flagged the submission date
- PAYE underpayments building up unnoticed between year-end reconciliations
- Payslips produced inconsistently, with no reliable records for employees or HMRC
What a managed payroll service looks like
Payroll goes out on time, accurately, every pay period. RTI is filed before the deadline. Payslips are issued and records are kept properly. You get on with running the business.
- RTI filed on schedule each month — no missed deadlines or late penalties
- PAYE calculated correctly and reconciled, with no year-end surprises from HMRC
- Payslips issued to employees and full records maintained throughout the year
- Fixed monthly fee — you know the cost upfront, with no hidden charges
What Hordle businesses say after switching
Clients typically arrive with payroll in some state of disarray. The pattern afterwards is fairly consistent: less to worry about, and considerably less HMRC correspondence.

The payroll bureau service, explained plainly
Three components cover most of what a Hordle business needs. Each is priced clearly and scoped before work begins.
Monthly Payroll Processing
Your payroll is run each pay period — gross to net calculations, tax and National Insurance, and payslips issued to employees. PAYE is calculated correctly and the numbers reconcile properly at year-end, with no last-minute corrections needed.
Included as standardRTI Submissions and PAYE Compliance
Full Payroll submission is made to HMRC via Real Time Information on or before each pay date. PAYE codes are monitored, P60s issued at year-end, and P45s processed when employees leave. The compliance side of payroll is handled properly, without gaps.
Filed on your behalfCIS Payroll for Construction Businesses
If you operate in construction and pay subcontractors, CIS deductions are calculated and reported correctly each month. Monthly CIS returns are filed with HMRC and subcontractor statements issued, keeping you on the right side of scheme obligations.

Four reasons Hordle businesses choose us for payroll
Payroll bureaux are not rare. What matters is accuracy, reliability, and an accountant who picks up the phone when something needs sorting.
Over 20 years running payrolls
Supreme Consulting has been running client payrolls since 2005. PAYE codes, National Insurance thresholds, RTI filing, auto-enrolment — none of it is new territory. You will not be explaining how payroll works to someone learning on the job.
Fixed monthly fee, no surprises
Payroll is priced on a fixed monthly basis based on the number of employees and the complexity of your scheme. You know the cost before work begins, and it does not change unless your headcount does. No hourly rates, no catch-up charges appearing from nowhere.
Replies within one working day
Payroll questions tend to be time-sensitive — an employee needs a payslip, a PAYE code has changed, a subcontractor is asking about their CIS statement. Questions are answered the day you ask them, which is how it should be.
Up and running in four steps
Switching payroll provider takes less effort than most people expect. The process is handled from our side; you provide the information once and we take it from there.
Brief discovery call
A short conversation to understand your current payroll setup, pay frequency, number of employees, and any CIS obligations. No preparation needed on your part — just a straightforward chat.
Clear, fixed-fee proposal
You receive a written proposal covering exactly what is included, the monthly fee, and when the first payroll run will be processed. No ambiguity about scope, no billing surprises later.
Smooth payroll handover
We request the relevant employee records and PAYE scheme details from your previous provider or from HMRC. The migration is handled on our side. Your employees notice nothing — payslips continue to arrive on time.
Payroll off your plate
From the first pay date, your payroll runs without you touching it. RTI is filed, payslips are issued, and the records are kept in good order throughout the year. There is considerably less to think about, which is rather the point.
“Stuart is a thorough efficient worker who produces good quality results at a reasonable price.”
What people usually want to know
Do you handle CIS payroll as well as standard PAYE?
Yes. CIS payroll for contractors paying subcontractors is a standard part of the service. Monthly CIS returns are filed with HMRC, deductions are calculated at the correct rate for each subcontractor’s verification status, and subcontractor payment and deduction statements are issued each month. If you are both a contractor and a subcontractor, the net CIS position is managed correctly.
What does payroll bureau pricing actually include?
Pricing is fixed monthly and based on the number of employees in your scheme. It covers the monthly payroll run, payslip production, RTI filing, PAYE code management, P60s at year-end, and P45s when employees leave. Auto-enrolment pension submissions can be included depending on your provider. You receive a written scope and fee before work starts — nothing is added without your agreement.
My payroll records are a bit of a mess. Can you sort that out before taking over?
This comes up fairly often. Before taking on an ongoing payroll service, we review your current position with HMRC, identify any discrepancies in the PAYE scheme, and tidy things up. Catch-up or remediation work is scoped and priced separately so you know what it costs — it is usually less disruptive than people expect.
Is there a minimum contract term or lock-in period?
No. Payroll is provided on a rolling monthly basis. If you decide to move to a different provider, we transfer your payroll records and PAYE scheme information in good order and make the handover straightforward. There is no minimum term and no exit fee.
Can you handle payroll for director-only limited companies?
Yes, and it is a common setup for owner-managed businesses in Hampshire. A director-only payroll is typically structured to take a salary up to the National Insurance secondary threshold and supplement with dividends, keeping the overall tax position efficient. We set up and run the PAYE scheme correctly and make sure the director’s pay structure is properly documented.
Payroll off your plate, starting this month.
A short call is all it takes to get a fixed-fee quote for your Hordle business. No commitment, no pressure — just a clear answer on what payroll support will cost and what it covers.
