Dormant Company Accounts Lymington
Your dormant company, still needs filing. We handle it.
A dormant company is not an inactive obligation. Companies House still requires annual accounts, and HMRC still expects notification. Many directors discover this only after a penalty has landed. We file dormant accounts accurately, on time, at a fixed fee, with replies within one working day.
- Companies House accounts filed before the deadline, every year
- HMRC dormancy notifications handled so you stay compliant
- No penalty risk from missed or incorrectly classified filings
- Fixed price agreed upfront — no hourly surprises on a simple job
No long-term contract. If the service does not suit you after the first filing, you leave with everything in order and nothing outstanding.

Sound familiar?
The company is dormant. The filing obligations are not.
Plenty of directors assume a company that has traded nothing requires nothing. Companies House disagrees. Accounts are still due annually, the confirmation statement still needs filing, and HMRC needs to know the company is dormant or it will expect a tax return. The penalties for ignoring this are entirely avoidable — they just require someone to take care of it.
- Accounts overdue at Companies House because the company seemed too inactive to bother with
- Unsure whether to notify HMRC separately or simply file a nil CT600
- No fixed-fee quote available — worried a simple job will cost more than it should
What a tidy dormant company looks like
Accounts filed on time, HMRC correctly notified, and the confirmation statement handled. Nothing outstanding, nothing overdue, and a fixed price that reflects the straightforward nature of the work.
- Annual dormant accounts filed with Companies House well ahead of the deadline
- HMRC notified correctly — no guesswork over CT600 vs dormancy letter
- A clear, fixed quote before we start so the cost is never a surprise
- Confirmation statement handled at the same time — one less thing to track

Dormant Accounts for Companies House
We prepare and file your annual dormant company accounts in the correct format for Companies House. The filing is done before the statutory deadline so late-filing penalties do not arise. You receive confirmation once everything is accepted.
Included as standardHMRC Dormancy Notification
Notifying HMRC that a company is dormant is a separate step from Companies House filing, and one that is often missed. We handle this correctly from the outset — whether that means a formal dormancy letter or a nil CT600, depending on your company’s position.
Included as standardConfirmation Statement Filing
The confirmation statement is due annually regardless of trading activity and carries its own penalties if missed. We file it alongside your dormant accounts so both obligations are cleared at once. Nothing left outstanding at Companies House.

What makes the difference for dormant company clients
Dormant accounts are a compliance task, not a complex one. The difference is in knowing exactly what needs filing, when, and with whom — so nothing is missed.
Over 20 years of filings handled
Supreme Consulting has been preparing company accounts since 2005. Dormant filings are a routine part of that work — the deadlines, formats, and HMRC distinction between dormancy notification and a nil return are well understood from daily practice, not theory.
Fixed fee, agreed before we start
Dormant company accounts are a predictable job and should be priced accordingly. You receive a clear, fixed-fee quote before any work begins. There are no hourly rates applied after the fact and no bill that bears no relation to the work involved.
Companies House and HMRC, both covered
Many directors file dormant accounts with Companies House and consider the matter closed, not realising HMRC requires separate notification. We handle both obligations, and we flag whether your company qualifies as dormant under HMRC’s definition before anything is filed.
Up and running in four steps
Most dormant company clients are fully onboarded and have their first filing in progress within a few days of making contact.
A brief discovery call
We start with a short, no-obligation call to understand your company’s situation — when it was incorporated, whether it has ever traded, and what filings are currently outstanding. This takes around fifteen minutes and costs nothing.
A clear fixed-fee proposal
You receive a written proposal confirming the scope of work, the deadline we are working to, and the fixed fee. No ambiguity about what is included and no scope for unexpected additions.
We prepare and file everything
Once instructed, we prepare the dormant accounts, handle the HMRC notification, and file the confirmation statement. You will need to approve the accounts before submission — this typically takes a few minutes online.
Compliant, closed, done
You receive confirmation of every accepted filing. Your company’s record at Companies House is clean, HMRC has been properly notified, and there is nothing outstanding. The following year, we contact you ahead of the deadline so this does not become a last-minute task.

Things clients usually ask us first
My company has never traded. Do I still need to file anything?
Yes. Companies House requires annual accounts from every registered limited company regardless of trading activity, and the confirmation statement is due every year without exception. HMRC also needs to be notified that the company is dormant, otherwise it may issue a notice requiring a corporation tax return. None of this is complicated, but all of it carries penalties if ignored.
What does dormant company accounting cost, and what is included?
We charge a fixed fee for dormant company work, quoted before anything is started. The fee covers preparation and filing of the dormant accounts with Companies House and the HMRC dormancy notification. The confirmation statement can be included or handled as a separate add-on depending on your preference. There are no hourly rates and no invoices that arrive with unexplained additions.
My accounts are overdue. Can you still help?
Yes, and it is better to address an overdue filing sooner rather than later, since Companies House penalties increase with time and HMRC may have issued a tax return notice in the meantime. We will assess what is outstanding, file everything in the correct order, and where a penalty has already arisen we can advise on the options. Catch-up work is priced transparently once we understand the full position.
Is there a minimum contract or lock-in period?
No. Dormant company filings are handled on an annual basis, and there is no contract requiring you to continue beyond the work you have instructed us to do. If your company’s circumstances change — whether it starts trading, is struck off, or you simply prefer a different arrangement — you are free to move on with all records and filings up to date.
What is the difference between dormant for Companies House and dormant for HMRC?
The two definitions are not the same, which catches many directors out. Companies House considers a company dormant if it has had no significant accounting transactions during the period, with limited exceptions such as shares issued on incorporation. HMRC has a broader view and will treat a company as dormant only if it has no sources of income and is not liable for corporation tax. A company can be dormant for Companies House purposes while still having obligations to HMRC, which is why both need to be addressed separately.
Should I keep the company dormant or simply dissolve it?
That depends on why the company exists and what you intend to do with it. Keeping a company dormant carries a small ongoing cost in filing fees and accountancy, but preserves the company name, any contracts, intellectual property, or bank accounts associated with it. Dissolution is straightforward if the company is genuinely no longer needed, but it is difficult to undo. We can talk through the options briefly on a discovery call so you make the right call for your situation.
