Sound familiar?

Not sure what your tax bill will be this year?

Most owner-managed limited companies in Lymington file their corporation tax return reactively: the accountant calls, the year-end numbers get pulled together, and the bill arrives with little time to plan around it. If your current accountant files on time but never discusses what is coming, or why your liability is what it is, that is a fairly common situation. It does not have to be.

  • Tax bill arrives as a surprise with weeks to spare, not months
  • Deductions and reliefs reviewed only at year-end, not throughout the year
  • CT600 deadline approaching with accounts still not finalised

What a well-run CT return looks like

Corporation tax compliance handled alongside your year-end accounts, with your liability visible before the deadline and reliefs considered throughout the year rather than as an afterthought.

  • Tax liability calculated and communicated well before the payment due date
  • Allowable expenses and available reliefs reviewed as part of the year-end process
  • Accounts and CT600 prepared together so nothing slips between the two
  • Fixed-fee pricing agreed upfront, so the bill is no more of a surprise than the tax

What you get

Corporation tax services for Lymington companies

The core compliance package covers everything a limited company needs at year-end, with add-ons for ongoing bookkeeping, payroll, and tax planning available on a monthly retainer.

01

CT600 Preparation and Filing

Your corporation tax return is prepared from your finalised year-end accounts and filed with HMRC before the statutory deadline. The computation covers all standard allowances and deductions, and you will see the liability figure before anything is submitted.

Core compliance
02

Year-End Accounts and Corporation Tax Together

Statutory accounts and the CT600 are prepared as a single process, so there is no duplication of effort and no risk of figures diverging between the two filings. Companies House and HMRC receive consistent, accurate information at the same time.

Included as standard
03

Tax Planning and Liability Review

Where reliefs apply — director remuneration structuring, capital allowances, R&D credits, or loss utilisation — these are reviewed as part of the year-end process rather than ignored. For companies with more complex positions, ongoing tax planning is available as a separate advisory service.

Why Supreme Consulting

What makes the difference for Lymington limited companies

There are several accountants in Hampshire who will file your CT600. Fewer will tell you what your liability looks like before the deadline, or flag a relief you were not aware of.

📅

Over 20 years of CT experience

Supreme Consulting has been preparing corporation tax returns for owner-managed limited companies since 2005. That is a long time to learn where things go wrong and how to avoid them. The process is practised, not improvised.

💷

Fixed fee, agreed before we start

The price for your CT600 and year-end accounts is confirmed in writing before any work begins. There are no hourly rates, no mid-engagement revisions, and no invoice that is larger than expected. You know the cost before you commit.

💡

Liability visible before the deadline

Your corporation tax figure is communicated as part of the year-end process, not handed over on the day of filing. That means you have time to plan cashflow around the payment, rather than scrambling to find the funds in nine months’ time.

Getting started

Up and running in four steps

The process is designed to be straightforward on your end. Most of the work happens on ours.

1

A short discovery call

We start with a no-obligation conversation — usually 20 to 30 minutes — to understand your company, your current accountant arrangement, and what your year-end situation looks like. No preparation required on your part.

2

A clear, fixed-fee proposal

You receive a written proposal setting out exactly what is covered, what the fee is, and when the work will be completed. No vague scope, no surprise additions.

3

We handle the transition

We request the professional clearance from your previous accountant, collect the records we need, and take the administration off your hands. If your books need catching up before the year-end work can begin, we will flag that upfront and price it separately.

4

Filed, confirmed, and finished

Your accounts and CT600 are prepared, reviewed with you, and filed. You receive confirmation of both Companies House and HMRC submissions. Your tax liability is noted, your payment deadline is clear, and the year-end is done.

Questions

Common questions about corporation tax returns

What does a corporation tax return actually involve for a small limited company?+

A CT600 is the statutory return filed with HMRC after your company’s financial year ends. It reports your taxable profits, applies any allowances or reliefs, and calculates the tax owed. It is prepared from your year-end accounts, which is why we handle both together. For most owner-managed limited companies, the process is straightforward once the bookkeeping is in order.

What does it cost, and what is included in the fee?+

Pricing is fixed and agreed before any work begins. A standard limited company engagement covers year-end statutory accounts, the CT600, and the Companies House confirmation statement. Bookkeeping, payroll, VAT, and advisory services are priced separately. You will receive a written quote after the initial call — no obligation to proceed.

My books are behind and my previous accountant has not filed yet — can you help?+

Yes, this is a common situation. We will review what is outstanding, confirm the scope of any catch-up work required, and price that separately from the ongoing engagement. The priority is getting everything filed correctly, then establishing a cleaner process going forward. We deal with HMRC on your behalf where penalties or late filings need to be addressed.

Is there a long-term contract?+

No. Supreme Consulting works on a rolling basis. If you want to move on, you give reasonable notice and we hand over your records cleanly and promptly. There is no lock-in period and no exit fee.

When is my corporation tax payment actually due?+

For most small companies, corporation tax is due nine months and one day after the end of your accounting period — which is separate from the filing deadline for the CT600 itself. We confirm both dates as part of the year-end process, so there is no ambiguity about when HMRC expects payment.

Are there reliefs that could reduce my corporation tax liability?+

Possibly. Capital allowances, director salary and dividend structuring, pension contributions, and in some cases R&D tax credits can all affect the final liability. We review these as part of the year-end process rather than leaving it to chance. Where a more detailed tax planning exercise is warranted, that is available as a separate advisory service.
