Sound familiar?
Keeping up with the books is eating your week.
Most small business owners in Lymington start doing their own bookkeeping because it seems straightforward. Six months in, transactions are piling up, bank reconciliations are months behind, and the VAT return deadline is approaching faster than expected. The books become something to dread rather than something useful.
- ✕ Bank reconciliations months behind and getting worse
- ✕ No clear picture of what the business actually owes in tax
- ✕ Hours spent on bookkeeping that should go into the business
What sorted looks like
Monthly bookkeeping handled on your behalf, records kept current, and cloud access to your numbers at any point. Your time goes back to the business, not the spreadsheet.
- ✓ Reconciliations completed monthly — always current, never behind
- ✓ VAT and tax position visible throughout the year, not just at year-end
- ✓ Bookkeeping off your plate entirely, on a fixed monthly retainer
- ✓ One fixed monthly fee — no hourly surprises or scope creep

What the monthly bookkeeping fee covers
Three core components make up the bookkeeping service. Each is designed to keep your records current, your compliance met, and your numbers legible.
Clean Books Every Month
Transactions are categorised, bank accounts reconciled, and records kept current on a monthly cycle. You get a clear, accurate picture of where the business stands without chasing paperwork at year-end.
Included as standardCloud Access and Visibility
Your books sit on Xero or QuickBooks Online, giving you real-time access to your figures from any device. Invoices, expenses, and bank feeds connect automatically — considerably less manual entry on your part.

Why Lymington businesses use us for bookkeeping
There are other bookkeepers. Here is what makes the difference in practice.
Over 20 years of practice
Supreme Consulting has been working with small businesses and contractors since 2005. That is two decades of seeing what goes wrong with books that are left too long, and how to keep them in a state that is genuinely useful rather than technically adequate.
Cloud tools, properly set up
Certified in both Xero and QuickBooks Online, the firm sets up bank feeds, expense integrations, and reporting from the start. You get real-time visibility without the manual entry that makes bookkeeping feel like a second job.
Fixed price, agreed upfront
Every engagement is quoted on a fixed-fee basis before work begins. The monthly amount does not change unless the scope does, and if scope changes, you are told in advance. No invoice arriving at the end of the month that is larger than expected.
Up and running in four steps
The onboarding process is designed to take as little of your time as possible. Most clients are fully set up within a week of their first call.
A brief discovery call
A no-obligation conversation to understand your business, your current bookkeeping setup, and what is causing the most friction. It takes around 20 minutes and you will leave with a clear sense of what happens next.
A fixed-fee proposal
You receive a written proposal covering exactly what is included, the monthly fee, and the timeline for getting started. No ambiguity about scope, no hourly rates to estimate.
Onboarding and cloud setup
The team handles the migration of your records onto Xero or QuickBooks Online, connects your bank feeds, and catches up any outstanding reconciliations. You do not need to prepare anything special.
Books handled, monthly
From that point, your bookkeeping is handled each month. Your records are current, your VAT is tracked, and your year-end will not be a scramble. Which is, frankly, the way it should be.
“Stuart is a thorough efficient worker who produces good quality results at a reasonable price.”
A few things people usually ask
Do you only handle bookkeeping, or can you take on VAT and payroll as well?
Bookkeeping sits at the centre of what we do, but most clients add VAT returns, payroll, or year-end accounts to their package from the start. Everything connects to the same cloud records, so there is no duplication and no passing files between different people. The scope is agreed upfront and priced accordingly.
What does the monthly bookkeeping fee actually include?
The fixed monthly fee covers transaction categorisation, bank reconciliation, and keeping your records current on Xero or QuickBooks Online. If VAT returns or payroll are in scope, those are priced and included in the same monthly total. You receive a written quote before any work begins, so you know exactly what is covered.
My books are months behind. Can you still help?
Yes. Catch-up bookkeeping is a regular part of the work, and clients arriving with records in arrears is not unusual. The backlog is assessed and quoted separately as a one-off project, then ongoing monthly bookkeeping begins once the records are current. The catch-up cost depends on how far behind things are and the volume of transactions.
Is there a long-term contract?
No minimum contract period is required. The service runs on a monthly basis and either party can end the arrangement with reasonable notice. If you decide to leave, your records are exported cleanly and handed over in full. You will not leave without your own data.
Which software do you use, and will I need to buy it separately?
The practice works with Xero and QuickBooks Online. Both are cloud-based and include bank feed connections, expense tools, and VAT reporting. Software subscription costs are discussed during onboarding and can often be included within the monthly fee depending on the package. You will not be left to set it up yourself.
