- Salary and dividend structure explained before you take a penny
- Corporation tax liability known months before it falls due
- VAT threshold monitored so registration is never a surprise
- Cloud bookkeeping set up correctly from the start, not retrofitted later

Sound familiar?
Doing it yourself because no one explained it properly.
Most new business owners spend the first year guessing. Guessing what to pay themselves, whether they need to register for VAT, when corporation tax lands, and what records HMRC actually expects. The company gets started; the finances get figured out later. Usually that works out fine, until it does not.
- ✕ No idea whether to pay salary, dividends, or a mix of both
- ✕ Corporation tax due date comes around faster than expected, with no figure in sight
- ✕ VAT registration triggered without realising the threshold had been crossed
What sorted looks like from day one
The compliance questions that slow most new business owners down have straightforward answers. They just need an accountant who will give them plainly, without charging for a two-hour meeting to do it.
- ✓ Salary and dividend structure agreed before you take your first payment
- ✓ Corporation tax calculated and flagged months before the nine-month deadline
- ✓ VAT threshold tracked, with registration handled the moment it applies
- ✓ Fixed monthly fee covering your compliance, with no unexpected additions

Everything a new business actually needs
From company setup and cloud bookkeeping through to year-end accounts and tax planning, the basics are covered without unnecessary complexity.
Company Setup and Bookkeeping
Your cloud accounting is configured correctly before a single transaction goes through, which is considerably easier than tidying it up later. Xero or QuickBooks Online, set up to suit how your business actually operates. Monthly bookkeeping means your records are current and your year-end does not become a scramble.
Included as standardYear-End Accounts and Corporation Tax
Your statutory accounts and CT600 are filed on time, and you know your tax liability well before the nine-month payment deadline. No surprise bills, no penalty notices. The figures are there when you need them, explained in plain terms.
Core complianceTax Planning and Director Pay
Getting the salary and dividend split right from the start can make a meaningful difference to how much you keep. That planning happens at the beginning, not as an afterthought at year-end. VAT registration, self assessment for directors, and PAYE for any employees are all handled as the business grows.

What sets this apart from a generic accountant
There are plenty of accountants who will file your returns once a year. Fewer will tell you what your tax bill is before you ask, or flag a VAT problem before it becomes one.
Two Decades With Owner-Managed Businesses
Founded in 2005, Supreme Consulting has worked with small limited companies and sole traders through every stage from first invoice to exit. The questions new business owners ask are familiar ones, and the answers are given without a meter running. That experience sits behind every piece of advice, however straightforward the question seems.
Cloud Accounting From Day One
Xero and QuickBooks Online are set up properly from the start, which is materially different from retrofitting a system onto two years of bank statements. Real-time figures mean your tax position is visible whenever you need it, not assembled in a rush before the filing deadline. The setup is included, not invoiced separately.
Fixed Fees, No Surprises
The proposal you receive sets out exactly what is covered and what it costs. There are no hourly rates accumulating in the background, no invoice arriving because you asked a question. For a new business managing cash flow carefully, knowing precisely what accounting costs each month is worth something.
Up and running in four steps
The process is straightforward. Most clients are fully onboarded within a week and have considerably less to think about from that point forward.
A Brief Discovery Call
A no-obligation conversation to understand where you are: whether you have already formed the company, what records exist so far, and what you need from an accountant. You will leave the call knowing exactly what happens next.
A Clear Fixed-Fee Proposal
You receive a written proposal covering the scope, the monthly fee, and what is included. No ambiguity about what falls outside the scope. If it looks right, you confirm and we move forward.
Onboarding and Cloud Setup
Your cloud accounting platform is configured, any existing records are migrated or tidied, and the integrations you need are put in place. If you have not formed the company yet, that can be handled at this stage too.
Your Finance Function, Running
Monthly bookkeeping, quarterly VAT where applicable, payroll if you have employees, and proactive contact before anything important falls due. Your accounts are handled, your tax is visible, and the parts of running a business you least enjoyed become considerably less time-consuming.

Things new business owners usually ask
Do I actually need an accountant when I am just starting out?
Not legally, but the decisions you make in the first few months tend to follow you for years. Getting the company structure right, understanding how director pay works, and setting up bookkeeping correctly from the outset is considerably easier than correcting it later. Most clients who come to us having done the first year themselves spend the first engagement catching up on what should have been straightforward to begin with.
What does start-up accounting cost and what is included?
Fees are fixed and based on the scope of services required — company size, whether you need VAT returns, payroll, and how much bookkeeping is involved. The proposal you receive covers everything included in the monthly retainer, with add-ons priced separately and clearly. There are no hourly rates and no charge for routine questions.
My bookkeeping is already in a bit of a state — can you still help?
Yes, and it is more common than you might expect. A catch-up exercise brings the records current, which is scoped and priced separately from ongoing monthly work. Once the backlog is cleared, the ongoing service runs as normal. The catch-up cost depends on how far behind things are and how the existing records were kept.
Am I locked into a long-term contract?
No. There is no minimum term. If after a few months it is not working, you leave with your records in order and nothing owed beyond the current month. The aim is to be worth keeping, not contractually obliged.
Should I be a sole trader or a limited company?
It depends on your expected profit, your appetite for administrative overhead, and whether limited liability matters in your line of work. At lower profit levels a sole trader structure is often simpler and cheaper overall; above a certain threshold the tax efficiency of a limited company tends to outweigh the additional compliance costs. This is a straightforward question to answer once we know your numbers, and it is covered in the discovery call at no charge.
When do I need to register for VAT?
The current registration threshold applies to taxable turnover over a rolling 12-month period. If you are approaching that level, registration is not optional — but there are also circumstances where voluntary registration makes sense before you reach it. Your turnover is monitored as part of the ongoing service, so the threshold does not creep up without warning.
Stop guessing what your business owes. Get it sorted.
