Sound familiar?

Annual accounts: always later than they should be.

For most small business owners, year-end accounts are the thing that gets pushed back until they cannot be pushed back any further. By then, the bookkeeping needs sorting, receipts are missing, and the figures are only slightly less stressful than the penalty notice. It is a pattern that repeats itself because the underlying setup is never quite right.

  • ✕ Accounts filed at the last minute with figures you do not fully trust
  • ✕ No clear picture of your corporation tax or income tax bill until it is urgent
  • ✕ Accountant who files and disappears until the following October

What a well-run year-end looks like

Accounts prepared from clean records, filed ahead of deadline, with your tax position clear months before it matters. That is the standard here, not a premium add-on.

  • ✓ Accounts prepared accurately from records kept in order throughout the year
  • ✓ Tax liability calculated and communicated well before payment is due
  • ✓ Proactive contact at key dates — you are not chasing us
  • ✓ Fixed fee agreed upfront — no billing surprises at year-end

What you get

What annual accounts preparation covers

The core service covers everything needed to produce compliant, accurate year-end accounts and file them correctly — with the option to add bookkeeping, payroll, and tax planning around it.

01

Year-End Accounts and Statutory Filing

Full preparation of your annual accounts to the required statutory standard — limited company, sole trader, or partnership. Filed with Companies House and HMRC within agreed timelines, with every figure reconciled before submission.

Included as standard
02

Corporation Tax Return and CT600

Your corporation tax return is prepared alongside the accounts — not as an afterthought. Tax liabilities are identified early, allowances are applied correctly, and you know what you owe before HMRC tells you.

Included for limited companies
03

Ongoing Support and Tax Planning

Questions answered within one working day throughout the year, not just at filing time. If your circumstances change — a new director, a property purchase, a significant expense — you have someone to call who already knows your numbers.

Available year-round

Why Supreme Consulting

Why Lymington businesses choose us for their accounts

There is no shortage of accountants. What is rarer is one who already understands your business before the first conversation, charges a fixed fee, and actually responds.

📅

21 years of local accounting practice

Founded in Lymington in 2005, Supreme Consulting has been preparing accounts for Hampshire small businesses through several economic cycles, tax regime changes, and the shift to cloud accounting. That depth of experience shows in the questions we ask — and the ones we know to ask before you think of them.

💷

Fixed fee, agreed before we start

The price is set at the outset based on the scope of work. There are no hourly rates running in the background and no invoice inflation at year-end. If the scope changes materially, we tell you before doing the work.

💡

Advice beyond the filing deadline

Accounts tell you what happened. The more useful question is what it means for next year — tax planning, profit extraction, cash flow. We cover that as part of the relationship, not as a billable extra every time you send an email.

Getting started

Four steps from enquiry to accounts filed

The process is straightforward. Most clients are onboarded and filing-ready within a week of their first call.

1

A no-obligation discovery call

We start with a short call to understand your business, your current setup, and what your year-end situation looks like. No paperwork required at this stage — just a conversation.

2

A clear, fixed-fee proposal

You receive a written proposal covering exactly what is included, the timeline, and the fixed price. No estimates, no ranges, no hourly rate caveats.

3

Onboarding and records setup

We handle the transition from your previous accountant, request the records we need, and set up cloud access where relevant. You are not expected to present things in a particular format before we can begin.

4

Accounts prepared, filed, explained

Your accounts are prepared, checked, and filed. You receive a plain-English summary of what the numbers show and what, if anything, to do before next year-end. From that point, you have an accountant who already knows your business.

Questions

Questions people ask before getting in touch

Do you prepare accounts for both limited companies and sole traders in Lymington?+

Yes. We prepare statutory accounts for limited companies (filed with Companies House), self-employed accounts for sole traders, and partnership accounts for LLPs and traditional partnerships. The process and paperwork differ between entity types, and we tailor the service accordingly. If you are not sure which applies to you, that is a reasonable first question for the discovery call.

What does annual accounts preparation cost, and what is included?+

Pricing is fixed and agreed before any work begins. For a straightforward limited company the fee covers year-end accounts preparation, the corporation tax return (CT600), and Companies House filing. Sole trader pricing covers the accounts and the self-assessment tax return. Add-ons such as bookkeeping, payroll, and VAT are priced separately and clearly. We do not publish standard rates because the right number depends on the size and complexity of your records — a free quote takes roughly 10 minutes.

My books are behind and I am not sure the records are in good shape — can you still help?+

This is a common starting point, not an unusual one. We carry out a catch-up review as part of onboarding, identify what is missing or inconsistent, and get the records to a standard from which accurate accounts can be prepared. There may be an additional one-off cost for significant catch-up work, and we will tell you what that is before doing it.

Is there a minimum contract or notice period?+

No minimum contract. If you decide the arrangement is not right for you, we ask for a reasonable notice period, return your records in good order, and provide a full handover to your next accountant. There is nothing owed beyond work already completed.

Can you take over from my current accountant mid-year?+

Yes. A mid-year switch is common and straightforward. We contact your previous accountant to obtain your books and prior-year accounts, carry out an opening review, and pick up from wherever you are in the year. There is no need to wait until your year-end to make the change.

Will I know my tax bill before the payment deadline?+

Yes. Producing your accounts and calculating the tax liability in good time — rather than a few weeks before the deadline — is a standard part of how we work. Knowing your corporation tax or income tax bill three to four months in advance gives you time to plan cash flow, rather than scrambling to find the money at the last moment.
