Year-End Accounts Brockenhurst

Year-End Accounts Brockenhurst

Your year-end accounts, handled properly.

Most small business owners in Brockenhurst file their accounts once a year and spend the weeks before the deadline piecing together records they should have had in order months earlier. We handle the preparation, the statutory filing, and the corporation tax return on a fixed fee, with replies to questions within one working day.

  • Statutory accounts prepared and filed before the deadline
  • Corporation tax liability calculated with no last-minute surprises
  • Your Companies House confirmation statement kept current
  • A clear view of your tax position before HMRC sends a reminder

No long-term contract. If it is not working after three months, you leave with clean, filed records and nothing owed.

Sound familiar?

Year-end arrives and the records are not quite there.

For most owner-managed businesses in Brockenhurst, the year-end is something that gets dealt with when it can no longer be ignored. Records are incomplete, the bank reconciliation has not been touched since spring, and the deadline is closer than it looks. The result is a rush job, a larger-than-expected tax bill with no time to plan around it, and another year of not really knowing whether the business made what it should have.

  • ✕ Books left unreconciled until the accountant asks for them
  • ✕ Corporation tax bill arrives with no time to prepare for it
  • ✕ Statutory filing deadlines tracked manually and occasionally missed

What a well-managed year-end looks like

When the books are maintained throughout the year, the year-end becomes straightforward. Accounts are prepared from clean records, the tax liability is visible well in advance, and filing happens without a scramble.

  • ✓ Cloud bookkeeping kept current so year-end preparation is not a rescue operation
  • ✓ Corporation tax calculated and communicated months before payment falls due
  • ✓ Companies House and HMRC deadlines monitored and met as a matter of course
  • ✓ Fixed-fee pricing agreed upfront so the bill is not a surprise either

What you get

Everything the year-end requires, covered.

The year-end service covers statutory accounts, corporation tax, and Companies House filing as a single, fixed-fee package. Nothing is left to you to coordinate.

01

Statutory Accounts, Filed on Time

Your year-end accounts are prepared from your records and filed with Companies House before the deadline. For limited companies this includes the full set of statutory accounts in the required format. For sole traders and partnerships, accounts are prepared to support the Self Assessment return.

Included as standard
02

Corporation Tax Return and Payment

The CT600 is prepared alongside the accounts, and your tax liability is confirmed well before the payment due date. You will know what is owed and when, giving you time to plan cash flow rather than react to a bill. Any available reliefs and deductions are identified and applied.

Included as standard
03

Companies House and HMRC Compliance

Confirmation statement filing, registered office maintenance, and correspondence with HMRC are managed as part of the ongoing relationship. Deadlines are tracked centrally so nothing falls through. If HMRC writes to you, you forward it to us.

Why Supreme Consulting

What makes the difference, practically speaking.

There are plenty of accountants. The ones worth staying with are the ones who keep you informed, file on time without chasing you, and tell you the tax position before it becomes urgent.

📅

Over 20 years, no guesswork

Supreme Consulting has been working with small businesses and contractors since 2005. Year-end accounts for owner-managed limited companies are a core part of what the practice does every day. The filing requirements, the common pitfalls, the questions HMRC tends to ask — these are familiar territory, not problems to figure out on your behalf.

💷

Fixed price, agreed before we start

The fee for your year-end is confirmed before any work begins. There are no hourly rates and no invoices that arrive larger than expected because the records were in worse shape than anticipated. If catch-up work is required, that is scoped and priced separately and clearly before we proceed.

☁️

Cloud records mean faster accounts

Working from Xero or QuickBooks Online, the year-end preparation draws on records that are already structured and reconciled rather than reconstructed from bank statements and shoeboxes. The result is a faster turnaround and a more accurate set of accounts. If you are not on cloud accounting yet, migration is part of the onboarding.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps.

The process is designed to take as little of your time as possible. Most of the work happens on our side once we have the basic information from you.

1

A brief discovery call

We start with a short conversation — no obligation, no sales pitch. You explain where you are with the business, what software you use, and when your year-end falls. We ask the questions we need to scope the work accurately.

2

A clear, fixed-fee proposal

You receive a written proposal setting out exactly what is covered, the timeline, and the fee. Nothing is vague. If there are add-ons or optional extras, they are listed separately so you can decide what you need.

3

Onboarding without the headache

We handle the transfer from your previous accountant, migrate your records to the cloud if needed, and set up the access we require. You provide the information once; we do the rest.

4

Accounts filed, tax visible

From here the year-end is our responsibility. Your accounts are prepared, reviewed with you, and filed. You know your tax liability well in advance, and Companies House stays current. Which is, frankly, the way it should be.

Questions

Answers to what most people ask first.

What exactly is included in the year-end accounts service?+

For a limited company, the service covers preparation of the statutory accounts in the format required by Companies House, the corporation tax return (CT600) filed with HMRC, and the confirmation statement. We review the accounts with you before filing so you understand the numbers and the tax position. Director’s salary and dividend planning is discussed as part of the process, not as a chargeable extra.

How is the fee calculated, and will it change if my books are in a poor state?+

The fee is fixed and agreed before we start, based on your business size, turnover, and the complexity of the records. If the books require catch-up or clean-up work before we can prepare the accounts, that is scoped and quoted separately — you will know the total cost before any work begins. There are no open-ended hourly fees.

I have not filed for a year or two. Can you still help?+

Yes. Late filing is more common than most people admit, and the first step is understanding exactly where things stand with HMRC and Companies House. We handle catch-up accounts regularly and can advise on any penalties already accrued and how to minimise further ones. The situation is rarely as difficult to resolve as it feels when you are sitting on it.

Is there a minimum contract term?+

There is no long-term contract. Most clients stay because the service works, not because they are obliged to. If you decide to move on, we provide all the handover documentation your new accountant needs and ensure Companies House and HMRC records are in order before we transfer.

My previous accountant filed late and I received a penalty. What happens now?+

The first thing to establish is whether the penalty is correct and whether there are grounds for a reasonable excuse appeal. HMRC does not always accept them, but in some circumstances a late filing penalty can be reduced or cancelled. We will review the position and advise honestly on whether an appeal is worth pursuing before taking any action.

Can you give me a view of my tax bill before the year-end, not after?+

Yes. With cloud accounting in place throughout the year, the estimated tax position is visible on an ongoing basis rather than confirmed only when accounts are finalised. For businesses on a management accounts package, the corporation tax estimate is updated quarterly. For others, a mid-year review can be arranged to give you an early read on the liability.
