First-Year Accounts Brockenhurst

First-Year Accounts Brockenhurst

Your first year of accounts, done properly.

Starting a limited company in Brockenhurst means a Companies House filing deadline, a corporation tax payment nine months after your year end, and a set of statutory accounts that need to be right first time. Supreme Consulting handles all of it on a fixed fee, with replies within one working day.

  • Statutory accounts filed accurately and on time with Companies House
  • Corporation tax calculated and submitted well before the payment deadline
  • Allowable expenses identified from day one, not after the fact
  • Cloud bookkeeping set up so your records are clean throughout the year

No long-term contract. If the arrangement is not working after three months, you leave with tidy books and nothing further owed.

Sound familiar?

Year one and already unsure what you owe?

The first year of a limited company involves more deadlines than most new directors expect. Companies House wants accounts. HMRC wants a corporation tax return and payment. And somewhere in between, you are supposed to have kept records good enough to support all of it. Most people work this out under pressure rather than in advance.

  • No clear picture of when the first accounts are actually due
  • Records kept in a spreadsheet that will take weeks to untangle
  • Corporation tax payment deadline approaching with no figure confirmed

What a handled first year looks like

Deadlines tracked, records kept properly, and the numbers right before anything is filed. You know what you owe and when, rather than finding out from a penalty notice.

  • Filing deadlines tracked and managed from incorporation onwards
  • Books brought up to date on cloud software, clear and complete
  • Corporation tax calculated early so there are no surprises at payment
  • Fixed-fee quote upfront so you know the cost before you commit

What you get

Everything your first year requires

From the initial bookkeeping setup through to Companies House filing and corporation tax payment, first-year accounts are handled in full.

01

Statutory Accounts and CT600

Your year-end accounts are prepared to the correct standard and filed with Companies House on time. The corporation tax return is submitted to HMRC alongside it, with your liability calculated clearly in advance of the payment deadline.

Included as standard
02

Bookkeeping and Cloud Setup

Xero or QuickBooks Online is set up from the start, so your records are in order throughout the year rather than assembled in a rush at year end. If records are already behind, a catch-up service brings everything current before the accounts are prepared.

Xero and QuickBooks certified
03

Expenses Review and Tax Planning

Allowable expenses are identified and correctly categorised before the accounts are finalised, not discovered afterwards. Where directors have personal tax obligations arising from the company, those are flagged and planned for in advance.

Fixed fee, no surprises

Why Supreme Consulting

What makes the difference in practice

Twenty years of working with owner-managed businesses in Hampshire means the common first-year mistakes are already accounted for before they happen.

📅

Deadlines tracked before you ask

The first accounts deadline for a new limited company is 21 months from incorporation, but the corporation tax payment falls nine months after the year end. Both are in the diary from the start. You will not receive a filing penalty because a date was missed.

☁️

Cloud records from day one

Xero and QuickBooks Online are set up at the beginning rather than retrofitted at year end. That means your income and expenses are categorised correctly as they happen, and the accounts preparation does not involve weeks of reconstruction.

💷

Fixed fee, agreed in writing

The scope and cost are confirmed before any work starts. If catch-up bookkeeping is needed, that is quoted separately and clearly. There are no hourly rates running in the background and no invoice that is larger than expected.

Getting started

Up and running in four steps

The process is designed to be straightforward. Most clients are set up and operational within a few days of the initial call.

1

A brief discovery call

A short conversation covers your company structure, incorporation date, current records, and what you need handled. No preparation required on your part beforehand.

2

A fixed-fee proposal

You receive a clear written proposal covering exactly what is included, the filing timeline, and the cost. Nothing is started until you have agreed to it.

3

Cloud setup and record review

Xero or QuickBooks Online is configured for your company, existing records are reviewed and brought up to date if necessary, and all relevant deadlines are logged.

4

Accounts filed, tax confirmed

Your statutory accounts and corporation tax return are prepared, reviewed with you, and filed. You know your tax liability well in advance of payment. The first year is done, and everything is in place for the years that follow.

Questions

Things people usually ask first

When are first-year accounts actually due for a new limited company?+

Companies House requires your first accounts within 21 months of your company’s incorporation date. The corporation tax return and payment are due nine months and one day after the accounting period ends. For most new companies, those two deadlines fall at different points, which catches people out. Both are tracked and managed as part of the service.

What does the first-year accounts service cost and what is included?+

Pricing is fixed and agreed before any work starts. A standard first-year package covers the preparation and filing of statutory accounts with Companies House, the CT600 corporation tax return, and the confirmation statement. Bookkeeping setup or catch-up is quoted separately if required. There are no hourly rates and no bill larger than the one you agreed to.

My records are in a spreadsheet and not in great shape. Is that a problem?+

It is common and it is manageable. A catch-up service brings records up to date before the accounts are prepared, and the cost of doing that is quoted clearly upfront. Once the first year is complete, Xero or QuickBooks Online is set up so the same situation does not repeat itself.

Is there a long-term contract or minimum commitment?+

There is no lock-in. If the arrangement is not working, you can leave with your records and files in order. For ongoing services such as bookkeeping or payroll, the arrangement runs month to month. The aim is to be worth keeping because the service is good, not because leaving is complicated.

Can you also handle my self assessment as a director?+

Yes. Directors of limited companies typically need to file a personal Self Assessment tax return each year, covering their salary, dividends, and any other income. That can be included in the same fixed-fee arrangement, or quoted separately if preferred. It is worth considering from the outset rather than discovering the requirement close to the January deadline.

How should I be paying myself from my company in the first year?+

The most tax-efficient approach for most owner-directors involves a combination of a small salary and dividends, though the exact split depends on your personal circumstances and other income. This is something that can be planned at the start of the year rather than decided in retrospect, which is generally where the savings are made.
