  • VAT threshold monitored — no unexpected registration obligations
  • Amazon and marketplace settlements reconciled cleanly each month

Sound familiar?

Selling online but the numbers are a mess?

Ecommerce bookkeeping is not like ordinary small business accounts. Platform fees, FBA charges, referral deductions, and net settlement amounts make bank reconciliation genuinely complicated. Add multi-channel selling, marketplace VAT rules, and stock valuation into the mix and most generalist accountants are out of their depth before the first question is asked.

  • Hours lost trying to reconcile Amazon payouts against actual bank deposits
  • No clear view of true margin after platform fees, returns, and shipping costs
  • Uncertain whether you are VAT-registered correctly across the channels you sell on

What sorted looks like

Monthly books that reflect how ecommerce actually works. Platform settlements matched, fees categorised correctly, and VAT position tracked so there are no surprises when quarters close.

  • Marketplace settlements reconciled monthly — bank always matches the books
  • Margin visible by channel, after fees and returns, not just gross revenue
  • VAT registration and MTD obligations monitored — you will not miss a threshold
  • Fixed monthly fee covering compliance — no invoice arriving at year-end that you were not expecting

What clients say after the books are sorted

Most clients arrive with records in some state of disorder. A few months in, the picture is usually quite different — and considerably less stressful.

What you get

Ecommerce accounting that covers the whole picture

From monthly bookkeeping to VAT returns, tax filing, and management accounts — everything scoped clearly and priced upfront.

01

Monthly Bookkeeping and Reconciliation

Your sales, fees, refunds, and settlements are categorised and reconciled each month using Xero or QuickBooks Online. FBA charges and referral fees are handled properly, so your profit and loss actually reflects how the business performed. No year-end catch-up scramble.

Included as standard
02

VAT Returns and MTD Compliance

Quarterly VAT returns submitted on time with full Making Tax Digital compliance. If you sell across multiple platforms or have international sales, your VAT position is reviewed so you are registered correctly and not over- or underpaying. Threshold monitoring is ongoing, not reactive.

Quarterly
03

Tax Filing and Business Advisory

Corporation tax returns or Self Assessment, filed accurately with allowable deductions properly claimed. Where there is room for planning — stock write-offs, platform costs, home office — it gets picked up rather than left on the table. Fixed fee, agreed in advance.

Annual and ongoing
What clients say

Consistently the same experience, whoever you are

Clients range from sole trader online sellers to owner-managed limited companies with multiple channels. The feedback tends to cover the same ground: clear, prompt, and worth the fee.

Why Supreme Consulting

What makes this different from a generalist accountant

Most accountants have never logged into Seller Central. These are the specific reasons that matters.

🛒

No explaining how ecommerce works

FBA fees, referral charges, settlement reports, marketplace VAT — you will not need to spend the first meeting educating your accountant on how Amazon pays out. We already know. That saves time and produces more accurate books from month one.

☁️

Real-time numbers through cloud accounting

Xero and QuickBooks Online sit at the centre of everything, with integrations that pull platform data directly where possible. Your sales, fees, and cash position are visible when you need them — not just at year-end. Certified in both platforms.

💷

Fixed fee, agreed before anything starts

The quote covers the scope — bookkeeping, VAT, tax filing, whatever is agreed. There are no hourly rates running in the background and no invoice that arrives at year-end larger than expected. If the scope changes, the fee discussion happens first.

Getting started

Up and running in four steps

The process is designed to get your books current quickly and keep the administrative burden on our side, not yours.

1

A brief discovery call

We start with a no-obligation conversation — your platforms, your current setup, and what is and is not working. You will leave the call knowing exactly what happens next and what it will cost.

2

Clear fixed-fee proposal

You receive a written proposal covering the full scope: what is included, what is not, timelines, and the monthly or annual fee. No ambiguity about what you are signing up for.

3

Onboarding and migration

We handle the transition from your previous accountant or software, including any catch-up work needed to bring the books current. Cloud accounting is set up and integrated — you do very little of the heavy lifting.

4

Your finances run properly

Monthly books clean, VAT filed on time, tax visible well in advance of the deadline. Regular check-ins and proactive advice when something is worth flagging — which is, frankly, the way it should have been working all along.

Questions

Things ecommerce sellers usually ask first

Do you actually understand how Amazon settlements, FBA fees, and marketplace payouts work?+

Yes. Amazon pays out net of fees, referral charges, and FBA fulfilment costs — the settlement report is not the same as revenue, and categorising those deductions correctly is the difference between accurate books and misleading ones. The same applies to other platforms. You will not need to explain the mechanics before getting a useful answer.

What does it actually cost, and what is included?+

Pricing is fixed-fee and agreed before anything starts. The quote covers the scope we discuss — typically bookkeeping, VAT returns, and annual tax filing for most ecommerce clients, with management accounts available as an add-on. No hourly rates, no surprise invoices. Quotes are tailored to your turnover, platforms, and transaction volume.

My books are behind and my previous accountant was not on top of things. Can you sort that out?+

Catch-up work is fairly routine. Most clients arrive with records that need some degree of attention — months behind, uncategorised transactions, or a Xero file that was set up incorrectly. We assess what needs doing, quote for the catch-up separately from ongoing work, and get things current before the regular monthly service begins.

Is there a long-term contract or a minimum commitment?+

There is no long-term lock-in. Most clients stay on a monthly rolling arrangement. If it is not working after a few months, you are free to leave — with tidy records and nothing outstanding on your account. The aim is to be worth keeping, not contractually obligatory.

I sell on multiple platforms — Etsy, eBay, Shopify, and Amazon. Can you handle all of them?+

Yes. Multi-channel selling adds complexity around reconciliation and VAT, particularly when different platforms have different fee structures and payout frequencies. Each channel is handled within the same bookkeeping workflow so you get a consolidated picture across the business rather than separate, disconnected records.

When will I know what my tax bill is going to be?+

The goal is to have a clear tax estimate well before HMRC sends any reminder. With monthly books current and management accounts updated quarterly, the year-end tax position is largely known before the accounting period closes. That means time to plan, not react.
