Takes the Time to Explain Things

“They take the time to explain things.”

Dorset Bin Cleaning

Sound familiar?

Still doing your own books on a Sunday evening?

It starts as a temporary arrangement and quietly becomes the norm. Receipts in a folder, bank statements half-reconciled, a vague sense that the VAT return is coming around again. The numbers exist, but no one has looked at them properly in months. That is not an unusual situation for small business owners across Hampshire, and it is fixable.

  • Bookkeeping piling up because there is no system and no time
  • No clear picture of profit or cash position until the accountant asks for everything at year end
  • VAT returns prepared in a rush from records that have not been touched since last quarter

What current books actually look like

Monthly bookkeeping means your figures are up to date when you need them, not reconstructed under pressure. VAT is prepared from clean records. Year end becomes a formality rather than a scramble.

  • Monthly bookkeeping handled, records reconciled and current at all times
  • Management figures available month by month, not just at year end
  • VAT returns prepared from accurate, up-to-date records every quarter
  • Fixed monthly fee so the cost is predictable and the scope is clear

What you get

Bookkeeping that actually stays current

Three core components that keep your books clean, your VAT accurate, and your figures accessible throughout the year.

01

Monthly Cloud Bookkeeping

Your transactions are categorised, reconciled, and posted each month in Xero or QuickBooks Online. Nothing sits unreviewed. If something looks off, you hear about it before it becomes a problem rather than after.

Xero and QuickBooks Online certified
02

VAT and MTD Compliance

Quarterly VAT returns are prepared from your up-to-date records and submitted under Making Tax Digital requirements. Your VAT threshold is monitored throughout the year, so registration obligations do not arrive as a surprise.

MTD-compliant submissions
03

Catch-Up and Clean-Up Work

If the books have fallen behind, that is handled first. Catch-up bookkeeping brings everything current from whatever date is needed, so the ongoing service starts from a clean foundation rather than an inherited backlog.

Why Supreme Consulting

Why small businesses in Hampshire choose us

There are plenty of bookkeepers in Hampshire. The question is whether they understand your business well enough to flag something before it costs you.

📅

Two decades of practical experience

Supreme Consulting has been working with small businesses and contractors since 2005. That is over 20 years of monthly bookkeeping, VAT returns, and year-end accounts across sole traders, limited companies, property investors, and trades businesses in Hampshire and beyond. You are not the first client with a drawer full of receipts.

☁️

Cloud tools with no setup headache

The practice is certified in Xero and QuickBooks Online. If you are already on one of those platforms, we slot in. If you are on spreadsheets or something older, the migration is handled as part of the onboarding. Either way, your figures are in a system you can actually see.

💷

Fixed fees, no billing surprises

Monthly bookkeeping is priced on a fixed retainer, scoped to your transaction volume and complexity. You know what it costs before anything starts. There are no hourly rate debates, no unexpected invoices for a phone call that ran long.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps

The onboarding process is designed to require as little from you as possible. Most clients are fully set up within a week or two.

1

A brief discovery call

A no-obligation conversation to understand your business, your current setup, and what is and is not working. No preparation needed on your side. You will leave the call knowing exactly what would be included and what it would cost.

2

A clear, fixed proposal

You receive a written proposal covering the scope, the monthly fee, and what is included. No vague estimates, no scope that expands quietly over time. If the price does not work, that is fine too.

3

Onboarding and cloud setup

Access to your accounting platform is arranged, records are migrated or connected, and any catch-up work is completed. You do not need to prepare anything in advance or clean up before we start.

4

Books handled, month after month

From that point, your bookkeeping is handled every month without you having to think about it. Your figures are current, your VAT is prepared from accurate records, and questions get a response within one working day. Which is, frankly, the way it should be.

Questions

A few things people usually ask

Do you work with businesses that use Xero or QuickBooks, or do I have to switch?+

Both platforms are used day to day. If you are already on Xero or QuickBooks Online, the transition is straightforward and nothing needs to change on your side. If you are on a different system or on spreadsheets, migration to one of those platforms is handled as part of the onboarding process. The choice of platform depends on your business type and what will work best for you.

What does monthly bookkeeping actually cost, and what is included?+

Pricing is fixed and scoped to your business based on transaction volume, VAT registration status, and any additional services required. A clear written proposal is provided before anything starts, so there are no open-ended fees. Bookkeeping packages can include bank reconciliation, VAT return preparation, and access to your figures via the cloud platform. The exact scope is confirmed before you commit to anything.

My books are several months behind. Is that a problem?+

It is a common starting point, not an obstacle. Catch-up bookkeeping brings the records current from whatever date is needed, and the cost of that catch-up work is quoted separately and transparently. Once the backlog is cleared, the ongoing monthly service starts from a clean base. Arriving with books in some state of disarray is, in practice, the norm rather than the exception.

Is there a minimum contract or any lock-in?+

There is no long-term contract. Monthly bookkeeping services run on a rolling basis, and you can give notice at any point. If you decide it is not working, you leave with fully reconciled, up-to-date books and no outstanding fees. The aim is to be worth retaining on merit rather than by contract.

Can you take over from a bookkeeper or accountant I am already using?+

Yes. The transfer process involves requesting records and login access from your previous provider, which is standard and handled on your behalf. Most transfers are completed without any disruption to your records or filing obligations. If there are gaps or errors in the inherited records, those are identified and resolved during onboarding.

Will I be able to see my figures, or do I have to wait for a report?+

Because the bookkeeping is done in Xero or QuickBooks Online, your figures are available in the platform whenever you want to look. There is no waiting for a quarterly report to understand where you stand. If you want a summary walkthrough of what the numbers mean, that is part of the service.
