Sound familiar?

Still not sure what last year’s accounts actually show?

Year-end accounts tend to sit on the to-do list until they cannot be ignored any longer. By then, the records are in some state of disarray, the deadline is closer than it should be, and there is no clear picture of what the business owes in tax. Most accountants will sort the filing. Fewer will tell you anything useful about the numbers behind it.

  • Records not reconciled, making year-end preparation slower and more expensive
  • No clear view of the corporation tax bill until HMRC sends the notice
  • Filing deadlines approached without knowing what documents are actually needed

What a clean year-end looks like

With the right process in place, annual accounts preparation becomes routine rather than stressful. Records are reviewed throughout the year, the tax position is visible well in advance, and the filing happens without drama.

  • Books reviewed and reconciled before year-end work begins, not during it
  • Corporation tax calculated and communicated months before the payment deadline
  • All filing obligations tracked — Companies House and HMRC — with nothing missed
  • Fixed fee agreed at the outset, covering the full scope of work

What you get

Everything your year-end accounts require

The annual accounts service covers preparation, review, and filing — with corporation tax and company secretarial obligations included as standard for limited companies.

01

Statutory Accounts Preparation

Year-end accounts are prepared to the required standard for your entity type — limited company, sole trader, or partnership. The figures are reviewed, adjusted where necessary, and presented in plain English before anything is filed.

Included as standard
02

Corporation Tax and CT600 Filing

Your corporation tax return is prepared alongside the accounts, with the liability calculated and explained before the payment deadline. The CT600 is filed with HMRC once you have reviewed and approved the figures.

Limited companies
03

Companies House and HMRC Filing

Both the statutory accounts and the tax return are filed electronically within the required deadlines. Confirmation statements and any company secretarial obligations are tracked and handled so nothing falls through the gaps.

Why Supreme Consulting

What makes the difference for Brockenhurst businesses

There are plenty of accountants who will file your accounts. Fewer will explain what the numbers mean, price it clearly, and answer your questions the same day.

📅

Over 20 years of practical experience

Supreme Consulting has been preparing accounts for small businesses and contractors since 2005. That depth of experience means the common problems — late records, missing documents, unclear director loan positions — are handled without fuss because we have seen them all before.

💷

Fixed fee, agreed before work begins

The quote you receive covers the full scope of the annual accounts engagement. There are no hourly rates running in the background and no additional invoices for routine correspondence. You know what you are paying before we start.

☁️

Cloud-first, with real-time visibility

Accounts preparation is faster and more accurate when the bookkeeping is current and accessible. Working in Xero or QuickBooks Online means the underlying records are clean and reviewable at any point in the year, not just at year-end.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps

The onboarding process is designed to be low-effort on your side. Most clients are set up and have an agreed proposal within a week of the initial call.

1

A brief discovery call

We start with a no-obligation conversation to understand your business, your current accounting setup, and what you actually need. It takes around 20 minutes and there is no commitment required.

2

A clear, fixed-fee proposal

You receive a written proposal covering exactly what is included, the timeline, and the fixed fee. No scope ambiguity, no hourly rates, no clauses to worry about.

3

We handle the transition

If you are switching from another accountant, we manage the handover — including requesting records and authority from your previous firm. If your books need tidying before year-end work begins, that is scoped and handled separately.

4

Accounts filed, tax known in advance

Once you are a client, your accounts are prepared on schedule, your tax bill is communicated well before the payment deadline, and your filing obligations are monitored throughout the year. Considerably less to think about.

Questions

Things people usually ask before getting started

What does annual accounts preparation actually include for a limited company?+

For a limited company, the engagement covers preparation of the statutory year-end accounts, the corporation tax return (CT600), and filing both with Companies House and HMRC respectively. The confirmation statement is also tracked. Director’s loan accounts, dividend records, and depreciation schedules are all reviewed as part of the preparation process — these are the areas that most commonly cause delays or adjustments.

How is the fee calculated, and what is included?+

Pricing is fixed and agreed before work begins. The quote is based on your entity type, the complexity of the accounts, and the current state of your records. There are no hourly rates and no additional charges for routine questions or correspondence during the engagement. If catch-up bookkeeping is needed before the accounts can be prepared, that is scoped and quoted separately.

My records are behind. Can you still prepare the accounts?+

Yes, and it is not an unusual situation. The first step is a review of where the records currently stand, followed by a catch-up scope if needed. The catch-up is priced separately and transparently — you will know what it costs before any work begins. Once the books are in order, the accounts preparation proceeds as normal.

Is there a minimum contract term or a penalty for leaving?+

There is no long-term contract and no exit penalty. Engagements run on a rolling monthly basis. If you decide to move on, we provide a professional handover to your next accountant, including all the records and filing history they will need. You leave with everything in order.

Do you handle accounts for sole traders and partnerships, or only limited companies?+

Accounts are prepared for sole traders, partnerships, and LLPs as well as limited companies. The scope differs by entity type — a sole trader engagement typically covers the Self Assessment return and income and expenditure accounts, while a partnership includes the partnership tax return alongside individual partner returns. The fixed-fee quote reflects whichever structure applies to you.

When will I know what my tax bill is going to be?+

For limited companies, the corporation tax liability is calculated as part of the accounts preparation process, which means you know what is owed well before the nine-month payment deadline. For sole traders, the Self Assessment calculation is shared once the return is prepared, giving you time to plan for the January payment rather than discovering it in December.
