Management Accounts New Milton

Management Accounts New Milton

Know where your business stands, every month.

Most owner-managed businesses in New Milton run on gut feel because their numbers arrive months late or not at all. Management accounts change that. You get a clear picture of profitability and cash flow on a regular basis, so decisions are based on current data rather than last year’s figures. Fixed-fee pricing, cloud-based reporting, and replies within one working day.

  • Monthly or quarterly reports delivered on a consistent schedule
  • Cash flow visibility so late payments do not catch you off guard
  • Profitability tracked by product, service, or department as needed
  • Numbers explained in plain English, not accounting terminology

No long-term contract. If you are not getting useful numbers within three months, you leave with clean records and nothing outstanding.

Sound familiar?

Running on last year’s numbers?

A lot of New Milton business owners only find out how the year went when the accountant files the accounts. By then, the decisions have already been made and the opportunities have passed. Year-end accounts are a legal requirement; management accounts are what actually help you run the business. The gap between the two is where most of the problems quietly develop.

  • ✕ No clear picture of profit until the accounts arrive months later
  • ✕ Cash flow surprises because there is no forward-looking view of the bank
  • ✕ Decisions made on instinct because the numbers are never current enough to trust

What current numbers look like

Management accounts bring your financial picture into the present. You see where profit is coming from, where cash is going, and what the next few months are likely to look like. It does not have to be complicated to be useful.

  • ✓ Quarterly or monthly reports showing profit, margins, and overhead against budget
  • ✓ Cash flow modelling updated regularly so the bank balance is never a surprise
  • ✓ Numbers presented clearly so you can act on them, not just file them away
  • ✓ Fixed monthly fee so the cost of staying informed is predictable and contained

What you get

What the management accounts service covers

Three components that together give you a reliable, up-to-date view of your business finances each reporting period.

01

Quarterly Profit and Loss Reports

You receive a clear profit and loss statement each quarter, with margins broken down so you can see which parts of the business are performing and which are not. Reports are prepared from your cloud-accounting data, so the numbers are current rather than reconstructed. Comparisons to prior periods and budget are included where useful.

Core deliverable
02

Cash Flow Modelling and Forecasting

A rolling cash flow model means you can see what the bank is likely to look like over the next eight to twelve weeks, accounting for known outgoings, expected receipts, and tax commitments. Late payments and seasonal dips stop being surprises when you can see them coming. The model is updated each period and discussed with you in plain terms.

03

Profitability Review and Commentary

Numbers on their own are not enough. Each set of management accounts comes with a brief commentary covering what the figures show, anything that warrants attention, and any questions worth discussing. If a margin has shifted or a cost line has crept up, you will know about it before it becomes a problem.

Why Supreme Consulting

What makes the difference in practice

Three things that consistently come up when clients explain why they stayed.

📊

Numbers explained, not just delivered

A set of management accounts that sits unread in an inbox is not useful. Every report comes with commentary in plain English, covering what has changed, what it means, and whether anything needs attention. The goal is that you leave each review knowing exactly where you stand.

☁️

Cloud-based, so nothing is stale

Reports are drawn from live Xero or QuickBooks Online data, which means the numbers reflect your actual position rather than a manual reconciliation done weeks after the fact. Setup and migration are handled by us, so you do not need to change how your business operates to get current reporting.

📅

Over twenty years of commercial experience

Supreme Consulting has been working with owner-managed businesses since 2005. That means the commentary you receive is grounded in how businesses actually behave, not accounting theory. If your margins are under pressure, the question is why and what to do about it, not just how to record it.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps

Most clients are receiving their first set of management accounts within a few weeks of getting in touch. The process is designed to be low-effort on your side.

1

A brief discovery call

We start with a conversation about your business, your current reporting setup, and what you actually want to know from your numbers. There is no obligation and it takes around twenty minutes. You leave the call knowing exactly what would be included and what it would cost.

2

A clear, fixed-fee proposal

You receive a written proposal covering the scope of the service, reporting frequency, and the monthly fee. Everything is itemised so there are no questions about what is and is not included. No hourly rates, no estimates that grow.

3

Cloud setup and onboarding

If your books are already on Xero or QuickBooks Online, we connect and review the setup. If they are not, we handle the migration. Either way, the transition requires very little from you and your day-to-day operations are not disrupted.

4

Regular reports, ongoing support

Each period you receive your management accounts with commentary, reviewed and discussed as needed. Your cash flow model is kept current, and questions get answered the day you ask them. The finance side of the business runs the way it should, so you can spend your time on the parts that actually need you.

Questions

Things people usually want to know first

What is actually included in management accounts, and how often will I receive them?+

The core deliverable is a profit and loss statement, balance sheet, and cash flow summary for the reporting period, with a brief written commentary explaining what the numbers show. Most clients opt for quarterly reporting, though monthly is available if your business moves quickly or you need tighter visibility. The frequency is agreed upfront and reflected in the fixed fee.

What does it cost, and is there a minimum commitment?+

Pricing is fixed and quoted based on your business size, the complexity of your accounts, and the reporting frequency you need. There are no hourly rates and no variable charges for time spent on your reports. The quote you receive is the price you pay. There is no minimum contract term, though most clients find a quarterly or annual arrangement gives the best continuity of reporting.

My bookkeeping is behind and my records are a bit of a mess. Is that a problem?+

It is fairly common. The first step is always to understand how far behind things are and what state the records are in. Catch-up bookkeeping is available as a separate piece of work, and the cost of that is quoted clearly before anything starts. Once the books are current, ongoing management accounts can begin. It is not unusual for clients to arrive with a year or more of backlog and leave with everything in order.

What happens if I decide to leave or switch accountants?+

There is no lock-in. You can give notice at any time and we will prepare a clean handover of your records, reports, and cloud accounting access. Your books and data are yours. The transition to another provider is straightforward because everything is maintained in a cloud accounting platform rather than a proprietary system.

Can management accounts be used to support a loan application or investment conversation?+

Yes, and this is one of the more practical uses of regular management accounts. A current profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow forecast carry considerably more weight with a lender or investor than year-end accounts filed months ago. If you are preparing for a funding conversation, it is worth discussing the format and level of detail that will be most useful for that specific purpose.

Will the management accounts show me how much tax I am likely to owe?+

Corporation tax liability can be estimated from the management accounts profit figure, and this is something we include in the commentary where it is useful. Knowing roughly what your tax bill is going to look like twelve weeks out is considerably more helpful than finding out at year-end. If tax planning is a priority, that can be brought into the scope of the ongoing service.
