Sound familiar?

Starting a business without knowing the numbers.

Most new business owners in New Milton are focused on the work, not the accounting. Which is entirely reasonable — until HMRC deadlines arrive, the VAT threshold creeps closer unnoticed, or someone asks whether you should be a limited company and you have no idea. Getting the structure right early is considerably cheaper than fixing it later.

  • ✕ No idea whether to incorporate or stay as a sole trader
  • ✕ Books not set up yet, receipts piling up in a folder
  • ✕ No visibility on what the first-year tax bill will look like

What a proper setup looks like

The compliance side — structure, registration, bookkeeping, year-end — is handled from the start. You get clear answers on the decisions that matter early, and a fixed monthly fee that covers what you actually need.

  • ✓ Straightforward advice on structure before you register anything
  • ✓ Cloud bookkeeping live from week one, nothing to catch up later
  • ✓ Tax estimate prepared well before your first filing deadline
  • ✓ Fixed monthly fee, no surprise invoices as the year progresses

Why Supreme Consulting

What makes the difference for a new business

Over 20 years of working with small businesses at every stage — from first registration to first employee to first profitable year.

📅

Startup Advice Grounded in Experience

Founded in 2005, Supreme Consulting has worked through every common mistake a new business makes — wrong structure, late VAT registration, missed deadlines. The advice you get at the start reflects two decades of seeing what goes wrong and what does not. You get the benefit of that without paying for the learning curve.

☁️

Cloud Setup From the Beginning

Certified in both Xero and QuickBooks Online, the firm sets up your accounting software correctly from day one. That means your records are clean, your bank feed is reconciled, and you are not staring at a backlog three months in. Real-time visibility from the moment you start trading.

💷

Fixed Fees, No Hourly Surprises

Startup accountants who charge by the hour create a quiet incentive to avoid asking questions. Fixed-fee pricing removes that entirely. You know what you are paying each month, what is included, and what an add-on costs before agreeing to it — which is, frankly, how it should work.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps

The whole process from first conversation to fully set-up accounting takes a matter of days, not weeks. Most of the work is done on our end.

1

A brief discovery call

A no-obligation conversation about where you are — registered or not yet, trading or about to, books in order or not. It takes twenty minutes and you will leave knowing what needs to happen next.

2

A clear, fixed-fee proposal

You receive a written proposal covering exactly what is included, the monthly cost, and the timeline. No scope creep, no hourly rate to worry about. If you want to change something, you ask and we update it.

3

Onboarding and cloud setup

Your Xero or QuickBooks account is configured, bank feeds connected, and chart of accounts set up for your business type. If there are records to migrate or catch up, we handle it. You do very little.

4

Your accounting, running properly

Monthly bookkeeping current, compliance deadlines tracked, and a proactive accountant available when something comes up. Your first year in business without the anxiety of not knowing where you stand financially.

Questions

Things new businesses usually want to know

Should I set up as a sole trader or a limited company?+

It depends on your expected profit level, your appetite for administrative overhead, and how you want to be perceived commercially. For most people starting out, the decision comes down to tax efficiency above a certain income threshold versus the cost and complexity of running a limited company. We go through this with every new client before they register anything — the wrong structure is fixable, but it is considerably easier to get right at the start.

What does startup accounting cost and what is included?+

Pricing is fixed-fee and scoped to what you actually need. A sole trader package covering Self Assessment, bookkeeping review, and basic guidance is priced differently from a limited company package covering year-end accounts, CT600, confirmation statement, and monthly bookkeeping. You receive a written quote before anything starts. Indicative pricing tiers will be published on the pricing page once finalised — in the meantime, the discovery call will give you a clear number.

What if my books are already behind or in a mess?+

Catch-up work is something we do regularly. The first step is understanding the extent of the backlog — how many months, what software (if any), and what records exist. We will give you an honest estimate of the catch-up cost before starting. Once it is done, the ongoing monthly fee keeps things current.

Is there a long-term contract or a minimum commitment?+

No long-term contract. The standard arrangement is a rolling monthly engagement with a short notice period. If it is not working after three months, you leave with clean, up-to-date books and nothing further owed. The aim is that you stay because it is working well, not because you are locked in.

Do you handle company formation as well as the ongoing accounting?+

Yes. If you have not yet incorporated, we can handle the formation through Companies House as part of the onboarding process. That means the company is set up correctly from the outset — right share structure, registered office, and accounting reference date — rather than needing to be amended later.

When will I know what my first tax bill is going to be?+

With monthly bookkeeping running from the start, a reliable estimate of your corporation tax or Self Assessment liability is available well before the filing deadline — typically several months in advance. That gives you time to plan the payment rather than scrambling when the bill arrives. Surprises at year-end are largely avoidable when the books are current.
