Cash Flow Forecasting Lymington

Cash Flow Forecasting — Lymington

Know what is coming before it arrives.

Most small businesses in Lymington find out about a cash shortfall when it is already upon them. A current forecast changes that. Stuart Green has worked directly with owner-managed businesses on cash flow modelling since 2005 — fixed-fee, responded to within one working day, cloud-based from day one.

  • See your cash position three to six months ahead
  • Spot potential gaps before they become overdraft conversations
  • Monthly model updated as your actuals come in
  • Plain-English commentary, no spreadsheet interpretation required

No long-term contract. If the service is not delivering useful visibility after three months, you leave with a clean model and nothing outstanding.

Sound familiar?

Still not sure what next quarter looks like?

Most small business owners in Lymington are running on gut feel and a rough sense of what is in the bank. That works until it does not — a large invoice delayed, a VAT bill landing at the wrong moment, or a quiet trading period nobody planned for. By the time the gap is visible, the options have narrowed.

  • ✕ No clear picture of cash beyond the current month
  • ✕ VAT and tax bills landing as surprises rather than planned events
  • ✕ Business decisions made without knowing the downstream cash impact

What a working forecast looks like

A maintained cash flow model gives you a forward view of what is coming in, what is going out, and when the pressure points are likely to occur. It is updated monthly against actuals so the picture stays current rather than becoming a historical document.

  • ✓ Rolling three-to-six month cash forecast, updated each month
  • ✓ Tax and VAT obligations built into the model so they are never a surprise
  • ✓ Scenario modelling so you can test decisions before committing to them
  • ✓ Fixed monthly fee — you know the cost before the work starts

What you get

The cash flow forecasting service, in plain terms

Three components that work together to give you a reliable forward view of your finances, maintained monthly rather than built once and left to gather dust.

01

Monthly Cash Flow Model

Your forecast is built in a cloud-based model and updated each month as actuals come in. You see what is scheduled to arrive, what is due to go out, and where the gaps are likely to appear — weeks before they become urgent.

Core service
02

Tax and VAT Built In

Corporation tax, VAT quarters, and PAYE obligations are scheduled into the model from the start. That means your cash position at any given point already accounts for what you owe HMRC, not just your trading activity.

Included as standard
03

Scenario and Decision Support

Thinking about taking on a new contract, hiring, or investing in equipment? The model can be run against different assumptions so you can see the cash impact of a decision before you make it. A brief summary call or written commentary is included each month.

Why Supreme Consulting

Why businesses in Lymington choose us for forecasting

The difference between a useful cash flow model and a spreadsheet that gets filed away is whether someone keeps it current. Here is what makes this service worth having.

📅

Twenty years of forecasting practice

Stuart Green has been building and maintaining cash flow models for owner-managed businesses since Supreme Consulting was founded in 2005. That experience means the model is structured around how your business actually works, not a generic template. Seasonal patterns, deferred income, CIS retentions — the nuances get accounted for properly.

☁️

Live model, not a static file

Your forecast is maintained in a cloud-based tool linked to your bookkeeping data. Actuals flow in each month, the forward view adjusts, and you are looking at a current picture rather than a projection that was accurate in January. You can view it any time without waiting for a meeting.

💷

Fixed fee, no billing surprises

The monthly cost is agreed upfront. There are no hourly rates accumulating in the background, and no invoice that is larger than expected because the quarter was complex. You know what the service costs before the work starts, which is, frankly, how it should be.

Getting started

Up and running in four steps

Most clients have a working forecast model within two weeks of their first call. Here is what the process looks like from your side.

1

A brief discovery call

We start with a no-obligation call — usually twenty minutes — to understand your business, your current bookkeeping setup, and what you need the forecast to tell you. No preparation required on your part.

2

Clear, fixed-fee proposal

You receive a written proposal covering scope, monthly cost, and what is included. No ambiguous hourly estimates. If it does not match what you need, say so and we will adjust it before anything is agreed.

3

Model built and connected

We pull your existing accounts data, build the forecast structure, and connect it to your cloud bookkeeping. The initial model is reviewed with you so you understand what you are looking at and why the numbers are where they are.

4

Monthly update, ongoing clarity

Each month the actuals are reconciled, the forward view is updated, and any significant changes are flagged. You go into each quarter knowing what your cash position is likely to look like — which is, for most business owners, a considerably more comfortable place to be.

Questions

Things people usually ask before starting

What does a cash flow forecast actually tell me that my bank balance does not?+

Your bank balance tells you where you are today. A maintained cash flow forecast tells you where you are likely to be in four, eight, or twelve weeks — before commitments land. That forward visibility is what allows you to make decisions about timing, investment, or credit with some confidence rather than hope.

What does the service cost and what is included?+

Pricing is fixed monthly and agreed before work begins. The scope — model build, monthly update, and commentary — is set out clearly in the proposal. There are no hourly rates running in the background. The exact figure depends on the complexity of your business and how frequently you want the model updated, which we establish on the initial call.

My books are not particularly tidy. Does that matter?+

It matters in that it takes a little longer to build an accurate starting position, and there may be a catch-up element to sort the underlying data. We will tell you what that involves and cost it separately before proceeding. Most clients whose books are not current when they come to us have them in reasonable order within the first month.

Is there a minimum contract term?+

No. There is no lock-in period and no penalty for leaving. The model and all associated files are yours. If the service is not useful, you are not obliged to continue. In practice, clients tend to stay because a current forecast becomes something they would rather not be without.

How often should the forecast be updated to remain useful?+

Monthly is the standard cadence and sufficient for most small businesses. If your trading is seasonal or you are in a period of significant change — taking on staff, entering a new contract, or managing a property acquisition — more frequent updates may be warranted. We can discuss what makes sense for your situation on the initial call.

Can the forecast be used to support a funding application or a conversation with my bank?+

Yes. A well-maintained cash flow model is one of the more persuasive documents you can bring to a bank or lender because it demonstrates that you understand your own numbers. We can produce a version formatted for external presentation if that is useful, and the underlying assumptions are documented so they can withstand scrutiny.
