Financial Projections Lymington

Financial Projections · Lymington

Know where your business is headed, before it gets there.

Most business owners make decisions based on last year’s numbers or a rough sense of how things feel. Financial projections give you something more useful: a forward-looking model built on your actual figures. Stuart Green has been building these for Lymington businesses since 2005, on fixed-fee pricing with replies within one working day.

  • A forward model built on your real revenue and cost assumptions
  • Scenario planning so you can test decisions before committing to them
  • Cash position visibility twelve months or more ahead
  • Plain-English commentary you can actually present to a bank or investor

No long-term contract. If the projections are not useful after the first engagement, you walk away with a clean model and nothing further owed.

Sound familiar?

Running on gut feel rather than actual numbers?

A lot of owner-managed businesses in Lymington operate without a financial model. The accounts arrive months after the year ends, the spreadsheet is outdated, and decisions about hiring, investment, or borrowing get made on instinct rather than evidence. That works until it does not.

  • No reliable view of cash position three or six months out
  • Unable to model what happens if revenue drops or a big cost lands
  • Projections requested by a lender or investor and nowhere to start

What a working financial model looks like

A good set of financial projections does not need to be complicated. Built on your actual numbers, updated when assumptions change, and presented in a format you can use — whether that is for internal planning or an external audience.

  • Monthly cash flow projection updated against your real figures, twelve months ahead
  • Scenario modelling showing best, base, and downside cases for any major decision
  • Investor-ready or bank-ready projections formatted for an external audience
  • Fixed-fee engagement with no billable surprises and a clear scope before work starts

What you get

What the financial projections service covers

Three core components, each built around your business rather than a generic template. All delivered on a fixed fee with no open-ended billing.

01

Cash Flow Forecasting and Modelling

Your cash position projected forward using actual opening balances, expected receipts, and scheduled outgoings. Updated assumptions feed through automatically, so the model stays live rather than becoming a historical document the moment it is finished.

Core deliverable
02

Scenario Planning and Sensitivity Analysis

Test the financial impact of a hire, a price change, a new contract, or a downturn before committing. Each scenario is built into the model so you can compare outcomes side by side rather than working from separate spreadsheets.

Advisory add-on
03

Investor and Lender-Ready Projections

When a bank, investor, or grant body asks for financial projections, the format and assumptions matter as much as the numbers. Projections are prepared with commentary explaining the key drivers, so the recipient can follow the logic without a separate briefing call.

Why Supreme Consulting

What makes the difference on a financial modelling engagement

Anyone can produce a spreadsheet. The value is in the assumptions behind it, the experience interpreting the output, and the commercial judgement applied when the numbers raise questions.

📅

Over Twenty Years of Commercial Experience

Stuart Green founded Supreme Consulting in 2005 and has been building financial models for small businesses and owner-managed companies ever since. That kind of experience means the assumptions in your projections are grounded in how businesses like yours actually behave, not textbook averages.

💡

Advice Grounded in Your Business Reality

Financial projections without commercial context are just arithmetic. Every model is accompanied by a plain-English review of what the numbers are saying and what, if anything, warrants a change in approach. The output is something you can act on, not just file away.

💷

Fixed Fee, No Open-Ended Billing

The scope is agreed before work starts and the fee is fixed. There are no hourly rates running in the background and no invoice that varies depending on how many revisions the model needs. You know the cost going in.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps

The process is designed to get to a working model quickly, without requiring you to do significant preparation work before the first conversation.

1

A brief discovery conversation

A no-obligation call to understand your business, what decisions you need the projections to inform, and whether external parties such as a bank or investor will be reviewing the output. No preparation needed on your part.

2

A fixed-fee proposal

You will receive a clear written proposal covering what will be built, the assumptions we will work from, the format of the output, and the fixed fee. No surprises after that.

3

We build the model

We pull together your figures, agree the key assumptions with you, and build the projection. Any questions about the inputs are handled directly, so you are not left deciphering a request list.

4

Numbers you can actually use

You receive a working financial model with plain-English commentary, formatted for your intended audience. Decisions that were previously based on instinct have numbers behind them, and your cash position is visible far enough ahead to be genuinely useful.

Questions

What most people ask before getting started

What exactly do financial projections cover, and how detailed do they need to be?+

That depends on what you need them for. A projection for internal planning can be a straightforward monthly cash flow model covering twelve to twenty-four months. One prepared for a bank or investor typically includes a profit and loss projection and balance sheet alongside the cash flow, with a written commentary explaining the key assumptions. We agree the scope and format at the outset so the output matches the purpose.

How much does a set of financial projections cost?+

The fee depends on complexity: the number of revenue streams, whether scenario modelling is required, and whether the projections need to be formatted for an external audience. All engagements are fixed-fee and scoped before work starts, so you know the cost before committing. A straightforward single-scenario cash flow model for a small business is at the lower end; a multi-scenario investor-ready set with commentary sits higher.

My accounts are behind and my bookkeeping is disorganised. Can you still build projections from that?+

Yes. It is more common than you might expect. Where the historical figures are unreliable we will work with you to establish a sensible opening position before projecting forward. If catch-up bookkeeping is needed to get there, that can be scoped and quoted separately. Disorganised records are not a barrier to getting started.

Do I have to commit to an ongoing arrangement, or is this a one-off engagement?+

Financial projections can be a completely one-off piece of work. There is no requirement to take on a monthly retainer or any other ongoing service. Some clients do continue with quarterly updates as the year progresses, but that is entirely their choice. There is no minimum term and no lock-in.

Can the projections be updated as my actual figures come in throughout the year?+

Yes, and for most businesses that is where the real value sits. A projection built in January and never revisited is of limited use by April. We can scope a quarterly refresh arrangement so the model is updated against actual performance and the forward view remains current. This can be included in a monthly retainer or priced as a standalone update.

Will the projections help me understand my likely tax position as well as cash flow?+

A well-constructed profit and loss projection gives you an early read on your likely corporation tax or income tax exposure for the year, which is considerably more useful than discovering the liability at the year end. We flag significant tax implications as part of the review so there are no large numbers arriving without warning.

Ready when you are

Stop making big decisions without the numbers.

A financial projection built on your actual figures gives you a clear view of cash position, a way to test decisions before committing, and something to present when a bank or investor asks.
