Self Assessment Tax Return Hampshire

Self Assessment Tax Return Hampshire

Your Self Assessment return, handled properly.

Most people filing Self Assessment in Hampshire either leave it too late, overpay through missed reliefs, or spend hours pulling records together themselves. Stuart Green and the team at Supreme Consulting have been preparing SA100 returns since 2005. Fixed-fee pricing, no surprise bills, and questions answered within one working day.

  • Your tax bill confirmed well before the January deadline
  • Allowable expenses and reliefs reviewed, so you keep more of what you earn
  • HMRC correspondence handled if anything comes back
  • Plain-English explanation of what you owe and why

No long-term contract. If it is not working after three months, you leave with your records in order and nothing owed.

Sound familiar?

Still not sure what your tax bill will be?

Self Assessment catches people out in predictable ways. The return sits on the to-do list until November, records are scattered across different places, and reliefs that should have been claimed get missed. Sole traders, landlords, and company directors in Hampshire all run into the same problems, usually avoidable with a bit of structure earlier in the year.

  • Tax bill arrives as a surprise in January with no time to plan
  • Hours spent pulling together receipts, mileage logs, and bank statements
  • Allowable expenses missed because no one reviewed them properly

What a tidy Self Assessment looks like

Your return is prepared accurately, filed on time, and your tax liability is confirmed months before it is due. Relevant reliefs are identified as a matter of course, and you are not left working it out yourself.

  • Tax bill confirmed early, with time to plan your payment
  • Records collected with minimal effort on your part
  • Expenses and reliefs reviewed so you pay only what is owed
  • Fixed fee agreed upfront, no hourly meter running in the background

What you get

What the Self Assessment service covers

A complete SA100 preparation and filing service, with a proper review of reliefs and allowances included as standard rather than treated as an optional extra.

01

SA100 Preparation and Filing

Your return is prepared from the records you provide, with all relevant income sources captured accurately — employment, self-employment, rental, dividends, and capital gains where applicable. It is reviewed before submission so you know your liability before HMRC does.

Core service
02

Expenses and Reliefs Review

Allowable expenses, pension contributions, gift aid, and any applicable reliefs are checked as part of the process. The goal is that you pay the right amount of tax, which is usually less than the amount people estimate when filing themselves.

Included as standard
03

Tax Planning for Next Year

Once the return is filed, there is a natural conversation about the year ahead. If there are straightforward steps to reduce your liability or improve your position before next April, those are flagged without you needing to ask.

Why Supreme Consulting

Why Hampshire clients use us for Self Assessment

There are plenty of accountants in Hampshire. The reasons clients stay tend to come down to the same few things.

📅

Over 20 years of returns filed

Supreme Consulting has been preparing Self Assessment returns since 2005, covering sole traders, landlords, company directors, partners, and locums. The common tax positions for each type of client are well understood before the first conversation. You will not be explaining your situation to someone working it out as they go.

💡

Your tax position explained plainly

The return is filed and you receive a clear summary of what you owe, what was claimed, and what, if anything, changes the following year. There is no jargon and no assumption that you already know what a payment on account is or why it matters.

💷

Fixed fee, agreed before we start

The cost of your Self Assessment return is confirmed upfront based on the complexity of your income sources. There is no hourly rate accumulating in the background while records are reviewed. What is quoted is what is charged.

Getting started

Up and running in four steps

The process is straightforward. Most clients spend less than an hour on their side of the paperwork before the return is in hand.

1

A brief discovery call

A no-obligation conversation to understand your income sources, your current situation, and whether there is anything unusual to account for. It takes about 20 minutes and costs nothing.

2

A fixed-fee proposal

You receive a clear quote covering what is included and what the process looks like. No ambiguity about scope, no hidden additions at the end.

3

You send your records

A straightforward checklist of what is needed depending on your income type. The gathering and review is handled from there, with any queries raised directly if something is missing or unclear.

4

Return filed, bill known

Your return is submitted and you receive a summary confirming your tax liability and payment dates. January is no longer a guessing game, and the process repeats the same way next year.

Questions

Questions people usually ask first

I have multiple income sources — employment, rental income, and some freelance work. Can you handle all of that in one return?+

Yes. The SA100 is designed to capture all UK income, and returns with multiple income streams are the norm rather than the exception. Employment income, self-employment profit, rental income, dividends, pension income, and capital gains can all be included in a single return. The complexity of your position is factored into the fixed fee at the outset.

What does the Self Assessment service cost and what is included?+

Pricing is fixed and agreed before any work starts, based on the number and complexity of your income sources. The fee covers preparation of the return, a review of allowable expenses and reliefs, submission to HMRC, and a summary of your liability and payment dates. There is no separate charge for answering questions during the process.

My records are in a bit of a state. Can you still help?+

Records in varying degrees of order are the starting point for most clients, particularly those who have been doing their own bookkeeping or have not filed in a year or two. A catch-up is factored into the scope where needed. The cost of bringing things up to date is confirmed before work begins, not added on at the end.

Is there a long-term contract if I use you for my Self Assessment?+

No. Self Assessment is typically an annual engagement, and you are not locked into anything beyond the current year’s return. Clients who want ongoing support through a monthly retainer have that option, but it is entirely optional. If you decide to go elsewhere the following year, your records and filing history are handed over without issue.

What happens if HMRC queries my return after it is filed?+

HMRC enquiries are relatively infrequent on straightforward returns, and accurate preparation reduces the risk further. If a query does arrive, the paperwork behind the return is retained and the correspondence can be handled. Any enquiry support beyond the standard filing service is discussed and quoted separately if it arises.

Can you help me reduce my tax bill for future years, or is this just a compliance exercise?+

Filing the return accurately is the foundation, but a review of the prior year naturally surfaces planning points for the year ahead. Common areas include pension contributions, timing of income, use of the trading allowance, and whether operating as a limited company would be more efficient at your level of income. These are raised as part of the conversation, not charged as a separate advisory project.
