Sound familiar?

Year-end approaching and you are not ready?

Annual accounts tend to get pushed down the list until they cannot be. By the time most small business owners in Hampshire turn their attention to year-end, the records need tidying, the tax bill is unknown, and the deadline is closer than it should be. It is a pattern that repeats, and it is largely avoidable with the right setup.

  • ✕ Records incomplete or unreconciled when the accountant asks for them
  • ✕ Tax bill arriving as a surprise rather than something planned for
  • ✕ Companies House or HMRC deadlines missed, or too close for comfort

What sorted looks like

Annual accounts preparation should be methodical and calm, not reactive. When the records are current and the process is managed throughout the year, the year-end is an exercise in confirmation rather than crisis.

  • ✓ Books reviewed and reconciled before year-end, not the morning of
  • ✓ Tax liability calculated and communicated well before the payment date
  • ✓ Statutory filing to Companies House and HMRC handled, deadlines tracked
  • ✓ Fixed-fee pricing agreed in advance — no unexpected invoice at year-end

What you get

What the annual accounts service covers

Annual accounts preparation for Hampshire businesses includes the statutory filing, the tax return, and the conversation about what the numbers actually mean — all included in a fixed fee agreed upfront.

01

Statutory Accounts and Filing

Full preparation of year-end accounts in the format required by Companies House or HMRC, depending on your business structure. Limited company accounts, sole trader accounts, partnership accounts, and dormant company filings are all covered. You receive accounts that are compliant, clearly presented, and filed on time.

Included as standard
02

Corporation Tax or Self Assessment

The tax return comes with the accounts — not as an add-on. For limited companies, that means the CT600 and corporation tax calculation. For sole traders and directors, Self Assessment returns are prepared alongside the year-end work so the full picture is clear before anything is due. You know your liability before HMRC tells you.

Filed with your accounts
03

Year-Round Access and Advice

Annual accounts are not a once-a-year transaction here. Questions that come up during the year — on allowable expenses, tax planning, or how a decision affects your next set of accounts — get answered when you ask them. Proactive communication where it is useful, responsive support throughout.

Why Supreme Consulting

Why Hampshire businesses choose us for annual accounts

There is no shortage of accountants who will prepare your year-end accounts. The difference tends to show in how they communicate, how they price, and how much they understand your business before you have explained it.

📅

Over 20 years of practice

Supreme Consulting has been preparing accounts for small businesses and contractors since 2005. That span of experience means year-end patterns, HMRC quirks, and sector-specific considerations are familiar ground rather than things to look up. The advice you receive reflects decades of hands-on work, not textbook theory.

💷

Fixed fee, agreed before you start

The price for your annual accounts is confirmed before any work begins — no hourly rates, no scope creep invoices, no bill that bears no resemblance to what you expected. For businesses that have been stung by unexplained accountancy fees before, this is a material difference.

💡

Accounts explained, not just filed

Filing your accounts with Companies House and HMRC is the minimum. Understanding what your accounts say about your profitability, your tax position, and your options for the year ahead is where most of the value sits. The year-end conversation is part of the service, not an upsell.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps

Switching accountant or setting up for the first time is simpler than most people expect. The process is managed from the first call, and you will know exactly what is happening at each stage.

1

A no-obligation discovery call

The first conversation is about your business — your current setup, your year-end date, and what you need from an accountant. There is no sales pitch and no commitment required. You will leave the call with a clear sense of what working together would involve.

2

A clear, fixed-fee proposal

Following the call, you receive a written proposal covering the scope of work, the timeline, and the fixed fee. Everything is spelled out before you agree to anything. If the scope changes at any point, that conversation happens before the invoice does.

3

Onboarding and records handover

If you are switching from another accountant, the handover is handled. If your records need tidying before the year-end work can begin, that is identified early and managed as part of the process. You do not need to arrive with everything in order.

4

Accounts filed, tax confirmed

Your annual accounts are prepared, reviewed with you in plain English, and filed with Companies House and HMRC ahead of the deadlines. Your tax liability is confirmed in advance, and you go into the next year knowing where you stand — which is considerably more comfortable than finding out when the reminder arrives.

Questions

What people usually want to know first

Do you prepare accounts for all types of Hampshire business, including sole traders and partnerships?+

Yes. The service covers limited company accounts, sole trader accounts, partnership and LLP accounts, and dormant company filings. The process and the requirements differ between structures, and the fee is scoped accordingly. If you are unsure which applies to you, that is covered in the initial call.

What does annual accounts preparation cost, and what is included?+

Pricing is fixed and agreed before any work starts, based on the complexity of your business and the scope required. For a limited company, the standard scope covers the statutory accounts, the CT600 corporation tax return, the Companies House filing, and the HMRC submission. Bookkeeping catch-up, payroll, and VAT are priced separately if needed. You will receive a written quote with everything itemised.

My books are behind and I am not sure everything is in order. Is that a problem?+

It is common. Most businesses that approach us mid-year or just before year-end arrive with records in some state of disarray. The starting point is understanding what is there and what needs tidying before the accounts can be finalised. Catch-up bookkeeping is scoped and priced separately from the year-end work so you can see exactly what it involves before committing.

Is there a minimum contract term or lock-in period?+

No minimum term. Services are provided on a monthly retainer or fixed-fee basis, and you can give notice at any point. If you decide the arrangement is not working, your accounts are kept current, your filings are up to date, and there is a clean handover to whoever takes over. Nothing is held back.

Can you take over from my existing accountant mid-year?+

Yes. A mid-year switch is straightforward in most cases. The process involves obtaining professional clearance from your previous accountant, reviewing the records held to date, and picking up from where they left off. There is no requirement to wait until your year-end to make the change.

Will I know my tax bill before it is due, or do I find out at the last minute?+

Knowing your liability in advance is one of the practical points of having accounts prepared properly. Once your year-end figures are finalised, the corporation tax or Self Assessment calculation is confirmed and explained before any payment date. You are not left waiting for a number you should already know.
