Sound familiar?

Payroll taking longer than it should?

For most small businesses in Lymington, payroll sits somewhere between a monthly headache and a genuine compliance risk. RTI deadlines are fixed, HMRC penalties are automatic, and the rules around CIS, directors’ pay, and pension contributions change often enough to catch people out. Getting it wrong is easy. Getting it put right is rarely quick.

  • RTI submissions filed late or incorrectly, with HMRC penalties following
  • CIS deductions guessed at rather than calculated and reported properly
  • Payslips produced at the last minute, or not at all, causing staff friction

What a well-run payroll looks like

When payroll is handled properly, it becomes invisible. Submissions go in on time, employees receive accurate payslips, and your PAYE liability is visible before it falls due. You stop thinking about it.

  • RTI submissions filed correctly and on time, before every pay run deadline
  • CIS deductions calculated accurately each month and reported to HMRC without guesswork
  • Payslips produced and distributed ahead of payday, every cycle
  • Fixed monthly fee covering the whole service, with no charge for routine queries

What you get

What the payroll service covers

A complete payroll bureau service, run on your behalf each pay period. Nothing left for you to do except approve the run.

01

Full Payroll Bureau Service

Every pay run is processed on your behalf, with payslips produced and RTI submissions filed to HMRC before the deadline. Directors’ salaries, employee wages, bonuses, and statutory payments are all handled within the same fixed fee. You approve the figures; everything else is done.

Included as standard
02

CIS Payroll for Contractors

If you operate in the construction industry, CIS deductions are calculated correctly for each subcontractor payment and reported to HMRC on the monthly deadline. Subcontractor statements are produced so your subbies can account for the deductions on their own returns. The scheme is more demanding than standard PAYE, and errors are common when it is managed in-house.

03

PAYE Compliance and Pension Support

Your PAYE liability is calculated each month so you know what is due before the payment date. Auto-enrolment duties, pension contribution calculations, and re-enrolment obligations are managed within the service. HMRC correspondence on PAYE matters is handled directly, so it does not sit in your inbox.

Why Supreme Consulting

Why businesses in Lymington use us for payroll

There is no shortage of payroll providers. Here is what distinguishes how we work.

📅

Over Twenty Years of Practice

Supreme Consulting has been running payroll for small businesses and contractors since 2005. That means familiarity with the edge cases: mid-year starters, leavers with outstanding holiday pay, directors taking dividends alongside salary, construction workers switching between employed and subcontractor status. The routine runs smoothly; the awkward situations are handled without fuss.

💷

Fixed Fee, No Variable Billing

The payroll fee is fixed each month based on your headcount and pay frequency. There is no hourly billing for calls about a payslip query or a P45 request. You know what you are paying before the month starts, and that number does not change unless your payroll does.

💬

Questions Answered the Same Day

Payroll queries tend to be time-sensitive. An employee chasing a payslip, a question about a tax code change from HMRC, a subcontractor asking about their deduction statement. Replies go out within one working day as standard, usually the same morning.

Getting started

Up and running in four straightforward steps

Switching payroll provider is less disruptive than most people expect. We handle the HMRC notifications and records migration so you do not have to.

1

A Brief Discovery Call

We start with a short conversation about your current payroll setup: how many employees, pay frequency, whether CIS is involved, and any complications worth knowing about upfront. No obligation, no sales pressure, and it usually takes under 20 minutes.

2

A Clear, Fixed-Fee Proposal

You receive a written proposal setting out exactly what is included, the monthly cost, and the timeline for getting started. The price does not change once agreed unless your payroll structure changes.

3

We Handle the Transition

We notify HMRC of the change in agent, collect the payroll records from your previous provider or employer, and set up your payroll on our system. You do not need to manage the handover.

4

Payroll Runs Without Your Involvement

Once set up, your payroll runs each period with minimal input from you. You approve the figures, payslips go out, RTI files to HMRC, and you receive a clear summary of what is due. That is largely the end of your involvement each month.

Questions

Common questions about our payroll service

Can you handle payroll for both employees and CIS subcontractors at the same time?+

Yes. Many of our clients in construction and trades run a mix of employed staff and subcontractors under the Construction Industry Scheme. PAYE and CIS are managed separately as HMRC requires, with the correct deductions applied to each subcontractor payment and monthly CIS returns filed on time. Subcontractor payment and deduction statements are produced each month so your subbies have what they need for their own returns.

What does the payroll service cost and what is included?+

Pricing is fixed each month based on the number of employees and pay frequency. The fee covers the full pay run, RTI submissions, payslip production, PAYE calculations, and routine queries. CIS payroll is priced separately from standard PAYE if both are needed. You will receive a written quote before anything is agreed, and the monthly cost does not change without notice.

Our payroll records are a bit of a mess. Can you still take us on?+

Yes, and this is not unusual. We regularly pick up payroll mid-year from businesses whose records are incomplete or inconsistent. We will review what exists, identify any gaps or errors, and correct the year-to-date figures before running the next pay period. There may be a one-off catch-up fee if the remedial work is significant, which will be agreed with you upfront.

Is there a minimum contract term?+

No. There is no minimum term and no penalty for leaving. Payroll services are provided on a rolling monthly basis, and if you decide to move elsewhere, we will produce a full payroll history export and notify HMRC of the agent change. You leave with everything you need.

Do you handle auto-enrolment pension duties as part of the service?+

Yes. Auto-enrolment assessments, contribution calculations, and communications to eligible employees are managed within the payroll service. If you have a pension provider already in place, we work with that scheme. If you are approaching your staging date or re-enrolment window and have not yet set up a scheme, we can advise on the options.

How far in advance will I know what the PAYE payment to HMRC is each month?+

You will receive a payroll summary after each pay run is processed, showing the net pay figures and the PAYE and National Insurance due to HMRC for that period. The payment deadline is the 19th of the following month for postal payments or the 22nd for BACS, so you have reasonable notice to arrange funds. There are no guesses or surprises at year-end.
