Sound familiar?
QuickBooks installed. Still no real picture of the finances.
It is a common enough situation. The software is there, transactions are coming in, but the chart of accounts is a mess, VAT has not been reconciled properly, and the year-end figure will be whatever the accountant works out later. For a Brockenhurst business trying to make decisions month to month, that is a fairly poor return on a subscription you are already paying for.
- ✕ QuickBooks set up in a hurry — categories wrong, reports unreliable
- ✕ VAT liability unclear until the quarter-end rush to reconcile everything
- ✕ No real sense of profitability until the accountant files the year-end accounts
What sorted looks like
QuickBooks configured to your business, books kept current each month, and someone who can read the numbers and tell you something useful. Compliance handled without fuss, and a clearer picture of where you stand.
- ✓ QuickBooks set up correctly — right categories, clean data, reliable reports
- ✓ VAT position visible throughout the quarter — no last-minute reconciliation
- ✓ Quarterly or monthly review so you know the profitability picture in real time
- ✓ Fixed monthly fee — know the cost upfront, no surprise bills

QuickBooks accounting, handled end to end
From initial setup through to monthly bookkeeping, VAT, and year-end filing — here is what is covered under a Supreme Consulting engagement.
QuickBooks Setup and Migration
If QuickBooks is already in place but not working as it should, we review the chart of accounts, clean up the historical data, and configure the settings to match how your business actually operates. New to QuickBooks entirely? We handle the setup and connect your bank feeds, payment platforms, and any relevant integrations from the start.
One-off or included in onboardingMonthly Bookkeeping and VAT
Your transactions are categorised and reconciled each month so the figures in QuickBooks reflect what is actually happening in the business. VAT returns are prepared and submitted on time under Making Tax Digital, and the liability is visible well before the deadline — not assembled in a hurry at the end of each quarter.
Included as standardYear-End Accounts and Tax
Limited company accounts, the corporation tax return, and confirmation statement are prepared and filed on your behalf. Because the books are current throughout the year, there is no scramble to pull everything together at year-end — and you will know the approximate tax position long before the payment falls due.
Included in limited company packageConsistently straightforward. That is the feedback.

What makes the difference in practice
There are plenty of accountants who will file your returns. Fewer who will make QuickBooks work properly and tell you something useful about the numbers.
QuickBooks set up to actually work
Being QuickBooks Online certified means we have seen enough badly configured files to know what goes wrong. Bank rules that miscategorise transactions, VAT codes applied inconsistently, opening balances carried in incorrectly — these things compound over time and make your reports meaningless. We set it up right or fix what is there, and keep it that way.
Over two decades of practical experience
Supreme Consulting was established in 2005. That is more than 20 years of working directly with small business owners, contractors, and sole traders — not in a large firm processing returns in volume, but in direct client relationships where the advice matters. Stuart works with clients personally, which means the person who knows your business is the person you speak to.
Fixed fee, no billing surprises
The scope and the price are agreed before any work begins. There are no hourly rates running in the background and no invoice that is larger than expected because you asked an extra question. If your needs change, the fee changes by agreement — you are told in advance, not presented with a bill after the fact.
Up and running in four straightforward steps
Switching accountants or setting up QuickBooks properly for the first time involves less effort on your part than you might expect. Here is how it works.
A short discovery call
We start with a no-obligation conversation about your business, your current QuickBooks setup, and what you need. It usually takes 20 to 30 minutes. You will leave the call knowing exactly what we would do and what it would cost.
A clear, fixed-fee proposal
You receive a written proposal covering the services included, the monthly fee, and the timeline. No vague estimates and nothing left for a future conversation. If you want to proceed, you confirm it and we handle the rest.
Onboarding and cloud setup
We manage the transition from your previous accountant, review and clean up the QuickBooks file, connect your bank feeds and integrations, and make sure everything is in order before we start. The admin involved on your end is minimal.
Ongoing — books current, advice available
From that point, your bookkeeping is handled each month, compliance deadlines are met without chasing, and you have someone to call when a financial question comes up. Considerably less to think about, which is rather the point.
“Communication is always prompt, professional, and easy to understand, which makes dealing with finances far less stressful. They take the time to explain things.”
A few things Brockenhurst businesses usually ask
Do you actually use QuickBooks, or do you just work with whatever the client has?
QuickBooks Online is one of the two platforms we work with daily — the other being Xero. We are QuickBooks Online certified, which means we know the software well enough to configure it correctly for your type of business, fix problems in existing files, and use the reporting features to give you useful financial information rather than just compliance output. You will not need to explain how the platform works before getting a sensible answer.
What does it cost, and what is included?
Pricing is fixed and agreed in advance based on the scope of work — your business size, transaction volume, and the services you need. A typical small limited company engagement covering monthly bookkeeping, VAT returns, year-end accounts, and corporation tax is quoted as a single monthly retainer with no hourly overage. The exact figure depends on your specific situation, which is why we start with a short call before quoting.
My QuickBooks file is a bit of a mess. Is that a problem?
It is a common starting point. Most businesses that come to us have books that have not been kept as current as they should be, or a QuickBooks setup that was done in a hurry and has accumulated inconsistencies over time. We will review what is there, quote for any catch-up work separately if it is needed, and bring everything up to date before moving to the ongoing monthly arrangement.
Is there a minimum contract term or a notice period if I want to leave?
There is no long-term contract. We work on a rolling monthly basis, and if you decide to move on you give us notice and we provide a clean handover to your next accountant — your records, your QuickBooks file, and everything in order. Nothing is held back. The arrangement works because it is useful, not because leaving is difficult.
Can you handle Making Tax Digital VAT submissions through QuickBooks?
Yes. QuickBooks Online is MTD-compatible and we submit VAT returns digitally through the platform as standard. If you are not yet MTD-registered we can handle the registration, and if you are on the annual accounting scheme or a flat rate arrangement we will make sure the correct scheme is configured in QuickBooks from the outset.
Will I have a clearer sense of my tax position throughout the year, or just at year-end?
With current bookkeeping in QuickBooks, your corporation tax or income tax position is visible at any point during the year — not just when the accounts are being prepared. We use that data to flag anything worth acting on before the year closes, whether that is a timing decision on a purchase, a dividend question, or a payment on account you need to budget for.
