First-Year Accounts New Milton

First-Year Accounts New Milton

Your first-year accounts, filed correctly.

The first year of trading comes with deadlines most new directors do not know exist. Your accounting reference date, corporation tax payment window, and statutory filing obligation each carry their own clock. We handle all of it on a fixed fee, respond within one working day, and keep your books on Xero or QuickBooks from the start.

  • First-year statutory accounts prepared and filed at Companies House
  • Corporation tax return (CT600) submitted before the nine-month deadline
  • Cloud accounting set up correctly from day one, not retrofitted later
  • Your accounting reference date and filing calendar confirmed in writing

No long-term contract required. If the arrangement is not working within three months, you leave with clean, filed records and nothing further owed.

Sound familiar?

First year in business and not sure what filing is due?

Most new limited company directors discover the compliance requirements after incorporation, not before. The accounting reference date is set automatically. The corporation tax payment deadline runs from your period of account, not your filing date. And Companies House has its own separate deadline on top. Getting any of these wrong in year one tends to mean penalties, and occasionally a compounded set of them.

  • Uncertain when your first accounts and CT600 are actually due
  • No bookkeeping system in place, so year-end will mean reconstructing records from bank statements
  • No clear picture of what tax is owed or when payment is expected

What a well-handled first year looks like

Your filing deadlines are tracked from the moment we onboard you. Your books are kept on a cloud platform throughout the year, so the accounts preparation is straightforward. And your tax liability is visible well before the payment date, not the week before.

  • All statutory deadlines confirmed, tracked, and met without chasing from you
  • Bookkeeping set up in Xero or QuickBooks from the start, records clean at year-end
  • Corporation tax calculated early so you can plan payment without a last-minute scramble
  • Fixed-fee pricing agreed upfront, covering accounts, CT600, and confirmation statement

What you get

What the first-year package covers

Three core components handled as a single, coordinated piece of work — so nothing slips between the cracks in year one.

01

Statutory Accounts and CT600

Your year-end accounts are prepared to the required statutory standard and filed at Companies House. The corporation tax return is completed alongside them and submitted to HMRC within the nine-month deadline from your period end. You know your tax liability in advance, not on the due date.

Core first-year filing
02

Cloud Bookkeeping From Day One

We set up Xero or QuickBooks at the start of the engagement, not at year-end. Your records are kept current throughout the trading year, which makes the accounts preparation considerably less involved and gives you a running view of your position. Catch-up bookkeeping is available if you are already mid-year.

Xero and QuickBooks certified
03

Confirmation Statement and Filing Calendar

Your first confirmation statement is due at Companies House within 14 days of the anniversary of incorporation — a deadline easy to miss when you are focused on running a new business. We file it, and we provide a written schedule of every annual filing obligation so you know what is coming and when.

Why Supreme Consulting

What makes a difference in year one

The first filing year sets the pattern. Getting the structure, deadlines, and bookkeeping right from the start saves considerably more effort later.

📅

Deadlines tracked, not chased

Your accounting reference date, corporation tax payment window, and Companies House filing deadline are all logged and managed from onboarding. You will receive advance notice of what is coming and when — not a reminder after the event. This matters most in year one, when the calendar is unfamiliar.

☁️

Cloud accounting from the first day

Certified in Xero and QuickBooks Online, we set your bookkeeping up properly at the start rather than reconciling a year of bank statements at year-end. Real-time figures mean your tax position is visible throughout the year. Year-end preparation becomes a review, not a reconstruction.

💷

Fixed fee, agreed before you start

The scope, price, and what is included are confirmed in writing before any work begins. First-year accounts, CT600, confirmation statement — each line is itemised. There are no hourly rates accumulating in the background and no invoice that arrives as a surprise.

Getting started

Up and running in four steps

From first call to filed accounts, the process is straightforward. Most of the work is on our side — yours is largely a matter of sharing access and answering the occasional question.

1

A brief discovery call

We start with a no-obligation conversation to understand your company structure, your current setup, and what you actually need in year one. It takes around 20 minutes and costs nothing. You will leave knowing exactly what the service covers and what it costs.

2

A fixed-fee proposal

You receive a written proposal covering the scope of work, the fee, and the filing deadlines relevant to your business. Nothing is vague or subject to change. If the proposal works for you, we proceed; if not, there is no obligation.

3

Onboarding and bookkeeping setup

We handle the cloud accounting setup, connect your bank feed, and migrate any existing records. If you are mid-year with records in a spreadsheet or nowhere at all, we handle the catch-up. You share access once; we do the rest.

4

Filed on time, year after year

Your first-year accounts and tax return are prepared and submitted before the deadline. Your confirmation statement is filed. You receive a copy of everything submitted, a summary of your tax position, and a schedule of next year’s obligations. Which is, frankly, the way it should work from the start.

Questions

Things people usually ask before starting

My company was incorporated mid-year. When are my first accounts actually due?+

Your first accounting period runs from your date of incorporation to your accounting reference date, which Companies House sets automatically (usually the last day of the month one year after incorporation). Statutory accounts must be filed at Companies House within 21 months of incorporation for the first period. The corporation tax payment is due nine months and one day after the end of the accounting period, and the CT600 return must be filed within 12 months. We confirm all three dates in writing at onboarding so nothing catches you out.

What does the first-year accounts service cost and what is included?+

We quote a fixed fee covering the statutory accounts, corporation tax return (CT600), and confirmation statement. The fee is based on your turnover, the complexity of your bookkeeping, and whether catch-up work is needed. Bookkeeping throughout the year is quoted separately as a monthly retainer if required. There are no hourly rates and no additional charges for filing or correspondence with HMRC unless the scope changes materially.

My books are in a mess — invoices in a folder, some things only on bank statements. Can you still help?+

Yes, and it is more common than most people admit. We offer a catch-up bookkeeping service to bring your records current before preparing the accounts. We will let you know upfront what the catch-up involves and what it costs — there are no surprises. The sooner you get in touch, the less compressed the year-end work tends to be.

Is there a minimum contract term or notice period?+

There is no long-term contract. For ongoing monthly services, we ask for one month’s notice to wind down the engagement cleanly. For year-end accounts and compliance work, the relationship is effectively per-engagement. If you decide to move on, you leave with clean, filed records and complete copies of everything we have submitted on your behalf.

Can you also deal with my Self Assessment return as a director?+

Yes. Most limited company directors are required to file a personal Self Assessment return each year to declare salary and dividend income from the company. We prepare director Self Assessment returns as an add-on to the company accounts work, and we typically complete both at the same time. The fee for the personal return is quoted separately and included in your written proposal.

How do I know what salary and dividends to take in the first year?+

This is one of the more practically useful conversations to have early. The optimal split between salary and dividends depends on your personal tax position, whether you have other income, and what the company can afford to pay. We cover this as part of onboarding — you will have a clear recommendation before you start taking money from the business, not after the year has closed.
