I started my first business in 1976 providing contract programming staff to the Computer Industry. I had to learn about running a business at the coal face and went to night school to learn about Accountancy and Finance. I grew the business for 17 years and reached the point where we were overtrading and struggling every month to pay our staff. The outcome was inevitable and I put the business into liquidation. I learnt a lot from that experience.

I continued to work in the Computer Industry and ended up as part of the team that grew the business from £1.7m of Sales to £165m of Sales in just 8 years. I learnt the importance of profit, stock control, planning and monitoring, people management and finance.

I volunteered as a School Governor for 16 years and became a Trustee of the largest Multi Academy Trust in England with a Turnover of £523m and 6,500 staff. Let me share my experience with you - let's have a discovery call!
